Nederland Police Reports - 25-11
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office had 231 calls for service in Nederland for the month of November. The calls for service included 3 animal complaints, 5 alarms, 3 suspicious activity, 4 fire/medical assists, 6 trespassing complaints, 6 welfare checks, 1 fraud, 1 non-structure/smoke report, 1 assault, 4 disturbances, 2 domestic violences, 2 harassments, 1 warrant arrest, 1 theft, and 2 DUIs.
Including in the calls for service, deputies conducted approximately 205 traffic stops, responded to 4 assists, and 3 property damage / unknown injury accidents. Not including the accidents, deputies issued approximately 156 citations and 13 written warnings.
At the request of one of the Trustees, the attached graph will show Time of Calls for Service. The time is represented using the 24-hour clock. If a time is not present, it means there were no calls for service in that hour for this month.
Calls of Note:
Lost Wallet
A male lost his wallet two nights ago. Cards haven't been used, and he placed a hold on them.
Property Damage Accident
A 33yo male fell asleep at the wheel, went off the roadway and hit a boulder. No injuries and he had his vehicle towed.
Violation of Protection Order
A 35yo male was stopped for speeding and found to have violated a protection order for possession of marijuana. He was booked and released from jail on the charges and his 23yo passenger was allowed to leave with her vehicle.
Felony Menacing
A 43yo female stared down and approached a 31yo male and his friends with a hatchet and made threatening statements. She was arrested and transported to jail.
Traffic
During this month, deputies stopped 8 vehicles for no license plates, fictitious plates, no proof of insurance, no driver’s licenses, and no vehicle registrations. All were summonsed and vehicles were parked.
Property Damage Crash
At about 0752 hours, while it was icy and blowing snow, there was a 4-vehicle crash that also included a stuck US Mail truck, and Nederland ambulance. No injuries and vehicles were able to be winched out and driveable. No citations due to conditions.
Trespass Warning
A 58yo male was trespassed from a business per the manager due to harassing an employee.
Traffic - warrant and numerous other charges
A 37yo male was stopped for an obstructed rear plate. He did not have any information about the vehicle and provided a fake name and date of birth. It was found he had a nationwide warrant and was an escape risk. When deputies tried to arrest him, he drove off and ultimately totaled his vehicle on Magnolia. He took off on foot and was not found. Another warrant will be obtained for charges on this incident, and he is still at large.
Traffic
A 35yo driver was stopped for no license plate. He was uncooperative and stated no laws of the land pertain to him. He was issued 3 summonses for False Reporting ID to LE, fictitious plate, no insurance, driving under restraint, unregistered vehicle, failed to display valid registration and no number plates attached.
Welfare
A 26yo female wanted a welfare check completed on her 5yo child while he was at his father’s residence. She stated her ex-husband looked heavily intoxicated and wanted to take her child back. The father was intoxicated and was willing to allow deputies to get the child and take him to his mother.
Safe2Tell
A 18yo female and her 21-year-old boyfriend are alleged to be selling drugs to students. Deputy will complete additional follow up.
Assault / Child abuse
Parents took their 4yo daughter to the hospital for a dog bite. The child looked disheveled, and parents were upset about mandatory reporting from staff. Boulder PD was called to the hospital and saw that the parents 8yo son had injuries to his eye. The father was arrested but Boulder PD later needed assistance from BCSO due to the incident occurring in Nederland.
Domestic Violence / Assault / Criminal tampering
A 37yo male was assaulted by his 37yo girlfriend that started as a verbal argument. She also smacked his cellphone out of his hand. She was arrested and transported to jail to be booked and lodged.
Traffic
A driver was stopped for expired plates and found to be the suspect that stole the reward cards at the gas station in Superior, CO. He was summonsed.
3rd Degree Assault
A 22yo male called 911 after an argument with his 53yo father. He challenged his father to punch him, so his father did which left a contusion to his cheek. The 22yo refused medical attention and didn't want to press charges. They were able to separate for a couple of days to cool down.
Warrant Arrest
A 51yo female was contacted for trespassing in the first-floor entry. She had 3 warrants; she was arrested and booked at the jail.
Domestic Violence / Assault / Criminal Mischief / Protection Order Violation / CSP warrant
A 51yo male was assaulted by his 36yo girlfriend who also damaged his property with a hammer. There was already a protection order in place between the two. She took off on foot but was found several days later and was booked and lodged at the jail.
Civil
Manager was having issues with arguments between a current and fired employee. Deputies were able to mediate and advised both sides about civil issues.
