Nederland Police Reports, 26-05

Nederland Police Reports, May 2026 

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office had 287 calls for service in Nederland for the month of May. The  calls for service included 1 alarm, 5 noise complaints, 1 theft, 2 animal complaints, 13 medical calls, 14 fire assists, 2 harassments, 4 welfare checks, 1 fraud, 3 trespasses, 3 suspicious activities, 1 sex assault, 1 reckless endangerment, 1 liquor violation, and 1 drug violation. 

Including in the calls for service, deputies conducted approximately 265 traffic stops, responded to 7 assists, 1 injury/rollover accident, and 1 property damage accident. Not including the accidents, deputies issued approximately 166 citations and 7 written warnings. 

At the request of one of the Trustees, the attached graph will show Time of Calls for Service. The time  is represented using the 24-hour clock. If a time is not present, it means there were no calls for service  in that hour for this month. 

Calls of Note: 

Agency Assist 

A 31yo female was found and contacted by deputies for Broomfield PD. The female was taken into  custody by Broomfield PD for evaluation. 

Trespass 

A male trespassed at Nederland Town Hall, documentation completed. 

Fraud 

A business owner received fraudulent emails demanding payments of a large amount of money that  imitated the fact that they came from town employees.

Burglary / Assault / Criminal Mischief / Obstruction 

A 50yo female returned to a residence of a former friend, where she got drunk, damaged property,  assaulted the friend, and forced him out of the residence. Entry was made into the residence, and the  female was taken into custody and to jail. 

Eluding / Reckless Endangerment / Failure to yield at stop sign / Fictitious Plates 

A white motorcycle with two people on it did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign at Snyder /  119. Attempted a traffic stop, they pulled over for a moment then sped off down the canyon. After a  detailed investigation, they were identified. The driver was arrested for felony charges and was ticketed  for traffic charges from a separate incident that occurred earlier in the day. 

Medical Assist 

A female’s water broke while heading from their home to Boulder. They stopped at Nederland Fire PD due to active labor. Delivery of a healthy baby girl happened in the back of the ambulance. Mom is  healthy! 

Criminal Mischief 

Homeowners reported their mailbox being destroyed by a "hammer". It looks like someone may have  backed into it during the snowstorm. Could be associated with other cases regarding harassment. No  leads, no suspects. 

Property Damage Crash 

A 36yo driver was pulling a flatbed trailer with pieces of climbing wall. The brake line to the rear front brake started leaking, and he lost his brakes and rolled backwards down the street until the rear of the  trailer went off the road and hit the picket fence at a residence before he could apply the emergency  brake. Report completed, no citation, property owner and driver will work out damages to the fence. 

Unattended Death 

A 69yo female was found deceased by her neighbor and landlord. The deceased was released to a mortuary and next of kin notified.

Driving Under the Influence of Drugs 

A 23yo male was stopped for a traffic violation. The driver had signs of impairment, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver was booked and released from jail.  

Possible Second-Degree Assault - Drugging 

A female was taken to a hospital by a friend because she believed she was drugged. Detectives to  investigate. 

Fourth Degree Arson 

A contractor was determined to be negligent that caused a fire and $2,000 worth of damage in a garage. Nederland Fire PD assisted with the fire investigation and the male was charged. 

Driving while suspended / Fictitious plate 

A 30yo male was stopped for fictitious plates and his license was also suspended last year. Summonsed. 

Driving Under the Influence crash 

A 29yo male was driving 50mph in a 35mph zone, lost control, overcorrected and rolled into the  embankment. He had indications of alcohol. He was booked and released from jail and released to a  sober father. 

Warrant Arrest 

A 30yo male was seen walking down the street who was known to have a warrant for his arrest. He was contacted, booked, and lodged at the jail. 

Habitual Traffic Offender / No proof of Insurance / Fictitious plates 

A vehicle was stopped for a brake light out and expired registration. The driver was cited for displaying  fictitious plates, driving while revoked as a habitual traffic offender, and no insurance. Plates were seized.

Fictitious license plate tab 

A 48yo male was parked on a sidewalk directly next to a sign that said no parking on the sidewalk. He  had expired registration from 05/2025. Upon closer inspection, he altered the tab on his rear plate with  a sharpie. He was issued a parking ticket and a summons for the fictitious tab and seized the evidence. 

Burglary / Criminal Mischief / Domestic Violence 

A female advised her ex-boyfriend forced his way into her RV and caused damage to the lock and door.  Deputies and detectives need to complete more follow-up. 

Suspicious  

A suspicious male transient was called in by multiple residents who stated he was walking around private property and near mailboxes. A deputy will conduct follow up in an attempt to identify the male. 

No Driver’s License / No Registration / No Insurance 

A 54yo male driver was stopped for expired registration (07/2019). His driver's license expired in 2024,  and his insurance was cancelled in 2025. He was issued a mandatory summons. Seized the expired  driver's license.
