Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office Report, April 2026  


On 4/1/26, at approximately 10:30 a.m., an individual was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on three new warrants.

On 4/3/26, at approximately 11:23 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the sheriff’s office lobby for a walk-in report of harassment by phone. A report was taken.

On 4/3/26, at approximately 1:43 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with property damage located at the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Central City. Deputies were advised one of the drivers left the scene. A report was completed.  

On 4/4/26, at approximately 1:08 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Lake Gulch Road, for a report of gunfire in the area. A report was taken.

On 4/4/26, at approximately 3:02 p.m., a male in custody was taken to the hospital from an incident that happened in the jail.  

On 4/5/26, at approximately 7:17 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy contacted a suspected intoxicated party in the Z-Stop Gas Station. The party was later arrested. A report was completed.

On 4/5/26, at approximately 4:56 p.m., a deputy met with a party in the lobby of the Gilpin Sheriff's Office regarding lost property. The party advised that she lost an engagement ring while in the 2200 block of Tolland Road. A report was taken.  

On 4/5/26, at approximately 6:51 p.m., deputies responded to the 1500 block of High Point Circle on the report of an active disturbance. An arrest was made.

On 4/6/26, at approximately 12:43 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the sheriff’s office lobby for a walk-in report of criminal mischief in the 2200 block of South Beaver Creek Road. A report was taken.  

On 4/7/26, at approximately 9:08 a.m., a deputy observed a suspicious vehicle in the 2400 block of Apex Valley Road. An occupant was taken into custody for preexisting warrants for their arrest. A report was made.  

On 4/7/26, at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, a deputy took a report for an alleged violation of a restraining order. A report was later written.

On 4/7/26, a male party came to the sheriff's office to turn himself in on a Black Hawk Police Department warrant. He was arrested on the warrant and a report was completed.

On 4/8/26, deputies took a call for service regarding a welfare check. A subject with seven outstanding arrest warrants was located, which led to his arrest.  

On 4/9/26, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the intersection of Apex Valley Road and Highway 119 for a report of animal carcases left on the roadway. A report was later written.

On 4/9/26, at approximately 9:13 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident property damage only that occurred at the 500 block of Gregory Street. A report was taken.

On 4/10/26, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a Gilpin County investigator took a report of a suspicious person that occurred on 4/8/26 on Pactolus Lake Road.

On 4/10/26, at approximately 4:37 a.m., deputies responded to mile marker 13.5 Highway 119 in regards to a motor vehicle accident. A report was made.  

On 4/10/26, at approximately 6::45 p.m., a deputy returned to a previously tagged abandoned vehicle located in the 5000 block of the Central City Parkway. The vehicle was still unmoved and the previously placed tag indicating it needed to be moved, had been removed. 

On 4/10/26, at approximately 9 p.m., a deputy was approached by an individual reporting a property damage accident which had occurred in the 6000 block of the Central City Parkway. A report was taken.  

On 4/11/26, at approximately 11:10 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Main Street at a casino on the report of a disturbance. Investigation disclosed no criminal activity.


On 4/11/26, at approximately 8:01 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a disturbance located in the 300 block of E. 1st High Street. A report was taken.

On 4/12/26, at approximately 6:09 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Vernon Drive on the report of a medical call with CPR in-progress. A report was taken

On 4/13/26, at approximately 1:34 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in-progress on Highway 119 near milepost 2. A report was taken.

On 4/13/26, at approximately 2:07 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the sheriff’s office lobby for a citizen assist. A report was taken.

On 4/13/26, at approximately 4:49 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a disturbance located in the 1400 block of Karlann Drive. An adult male was arrested for assault and domestic violence related offenses. A report was taken.  

On 4/13/26, at approximately 9:14 p.m., deputies responded near the 300 block of Gregory Street in regards to a theft call for service. A report was made.

On 4/13/26, at approximately 8:11 p.m., a deputy booked drugs into evidence for destruction. A report was taken.  

On 4/14/26, a deputy responded to Taggerts gas station to assist another deputy with a traffic stop. A suspect was later taken into custody and a report was written.

On 4/14/26, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a person was remanded by the Gilpin County Courts on an outstanding Gilpin County warrant. Upon arrival to the detention facility, a second out-of-county warrant was discovered. The person was additionally detained on the second warrant and processed.

On 4/14/26, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of Nevada Street for a property damage accident involving multiple vehicles. A report was later written.

On 4/15/26, at approximately 4:06 a.m., deputies responded as cover for Black Hawk officers near the 100 block of Richman Street. A report was made.

On 4/16/26, at approximately 9:03 a.m., deputies contacted a reporting party via phone regarding a civil issue. A report was made.

On 4/17/26, at approximately 9:24 a.m., an in custody individual was found to have a warrant. They were booked on said warrant and remain in custody.

On 4/18/26, at approximately 10:56 p.m., an individual was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on a Gilpin County warrant. They were released on bond at approximately 11:46 p.m.  

On 4/19/26, at approximately 7:34 a.m., a sergeant responded to the Kriley Pond area near mile marker 4 on Highway 46 to assist Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer on a harassment investigation. A report was taken.  

On 4/19/26, at approximately 8:31 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a follow up in regards to fraud located in the 400 block of Upper Travis Gulch Road. A report was completed.  

On 4/19/26, at approximately 3:59 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of  E. 5th High Street for a welfare check. A report was taken.

On 4/19/26, at approximately 8:42 p.m., a deputy was performing traffic enforcement at the approximate location of mile post 19 on Highway 119 when a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed failed to yield to an emergency vehicle after the deputy activated their emergency lights.

On 4/19/26, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a Gilpin County officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle was driving under a revoked driver's license and was issued a citation, driver's license was retained, and issued a proof of service.  

On 4/20/26, at approximately 9:30 a.m., multiple deputies completed an eviction located in the 100 block of Wallens Place. One party was arrested for an outstanding warrant.


On 4/20/26, at approximately 10 a.m., deputies executed a civil eviction at the 100 block of Wallens Place. A report was taken.  

On 4/20/26, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a street and road issue located at the intersection of Highway 46 and Timber Drive. A report was taken.  

On 4/21/26, at approximately 11 a.m., a deputy responded to a phone report of fraud located in the 800 block of Mack Road. A report was made.  

On 4/21/26, at approximately 12:53 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motorist assist located at mile marker 2.5 Central City Parkway. A report was made.  

On 4/21/26, deputies were advised of a REDDI report in the 300 block of Gregory Street. A report was made.  

On 4/23/26, at approximately 2:29 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a welfare check in the 50 block of Athena Road. A report was made.  

On 4/24/26, at approximately 10:41 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a hit and run/property damage only call in the 100 block of Lawrence Street. A report was taken.

On 4/25/26, at approximately 1:42 a.m., deputies, fire, and EMS responded to the 400 block of Mountain Meadow Road on the report of CPR in progress. A report was taken.

On 4/25/26, at approximately 8:06 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress located in the 200 block of Feldspar Road. The parties at the residence had permission to be on property and inside. A report was completed.  

On 4/25/26, at approximately 1:41 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident property damage only located near the 200 block of Hacker Drive. A report was done.

On 4/25/26, at approximately 4:45 p.m., deputies responded to the Columbine OHV area on the report of an assault in progress between two females. A ticket was issued.

On 4/26/26, at approximately 1:36 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a counterfeit five-dollar bill located at Dragon Tiger Casino.

On 4/26/26, at approximately 4:55 p.m., a deputy responded to the Century parking garage on the report of a hit and run. A report was taken.

On 4/26/26, at approximately 9:14 p.m., a deputy was on routine patrol in the area of Highway 72 and Outlook Drive when they observed a vehicle cross over the marked double line heading eastbound.

On 4/27/26, at approximately 10:54 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a found property call near the intersection of Stewart Gulch Road and Forrest Service Road 411.1. A report was later written.

On 4/28/26, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on an outstanding warrant.

On 4/29/26, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an in-custody party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on one outstanding active, valid warrant. A report was later completed.

On 4/29/26, at approximately 9:05 p.m., deputies responded to the 1000 block of Mountain Meadows Drive, Black Hawk, for an alleged disturbance in progress.

On 4/30/26, at approximately 12:53 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a possible suicidal party located at the 10000 block of Dowdle Drive. A report was taken.  

On 4/30/26, at approximately 6:51 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a disturbance located in the 700 block of Dakota Ridge Road. A report was  taken.  

On 4/30/26, a deputy took a report for a civil matter occurring in the 700 block of Eureka Street over the phone. A  report was later written.
