Calls of Note:
Disorderly Conduct
A 44 year old female was outside of the Visitor Center yelling and screaming. She declined any resources or co responder contact. She was warned for disorderly conduct and trespassing and if contacted again, she would be cited.
Agency Assist-Child Abuse
There was a report about a possible human bite mark on a 2-year-old. The child’s parents have had prior involvement with child welfare. Parents were interviewed and the mother admitted to biting her child. She had gotten frustrated with the child for crying and not listening. The incident occurred in Broomfield, so Broomfield PD was contacted and they arrested the mother.
Safe 2 Tell
Followed up on a possible domestic disturbance on March 25th where a boyfriend allegedly came home intoxicated, accused the girlfriend of cheating, broke items in the home, and blood was seen outside. The same report also included concern about a 12 year old child. Interviews were completed, no crime at that time but more follow up to be completed.
Possible Swatting Call(s)
Nederland Elementary School. On 4/6 an anonymous caller with a 2-hour delayed call time advised that 4 juveniles were breaking windows and entering the school. The school was checked, and it appeared it was a fake call. A similar fake call came on that same day to an elementary school in Hygiene.
Agency Assist
A deputy received an HHS referral about possible child abuse of a 13 year old female by a parent. HHS and a deputy completed interviews, and it appeared someone is making false reports to harass the child.
Property Damage Accident
Ned Town Hall. A 65 year old male driver backed his vehicle into another vehicle driven by a 69 year old female driver. The male driver was summonsed.
Burglary / Criminal Mischief
Homeowners came home yesterday and noticed holes drilled in all three exterior doors and from the inside of the home. No leads.
Abandoned Vehicle
A gold Chevrolet Malibu has been sitting in the RTD lot with a flat tire for over a month. The owner was notified and told it will be towed by RTD in the next few days.
Criminal Mischief
A 37 year old male admitted to breaking a window on 03/24/2025 valued at $1655.11 that was owned by the Boulder County Housing Authority. He is currently working out a payment plan and the Housing Authority is confirming with the upper management that they do not want to press charges.
Mediation
A neighbor called because his 32 year old neighbor threatened him, pushed him, and tried to steal his phone when asked to move vehicles and a tree chipper off his property. The 32 year old has severe mental health issues and his mother was contacted to assist with mediation with their neighbor. No charges.
Criminal Mischief
Chipeta Park. The water fountain was vandalized sometime overnight between 04/21/25 and the morning of 04/22/25. The unit—a hands-free bottle filling station with a drinking fountain—had a shattered display screen and visible damage consistent with being kicked or struck by a blunt object leaving the fountain hanging off the wall. There are currently no cameras in the area and no known suspects. Total cost to repair (Labor and a new fountain) $3,500.000.
Domestic Dispute
A 36 year old female called 911 over a heated verbal fight with her fiancé. No crime had been committed. Referred to a co-responder for alcohol abuse treatment and marriage counseling.
Third Degree Assault / Possession of drug paraphernalia / Possession of Ketamine
A 31 year old male assaulted his 60 year old mother. He was contacted walking away from the residence with drug paraphernalia and Ketamine. Booked and lodged at the jail.
Theft
A 13 year old female and 14 year old male stole two Monster energy drinks and one package of gummy bears from the Kwik Mart. Kwik Mart did not want to press charges. The juveniles are going to pay for the goods and apologize to the store owner.
M1 Hold / Disturbance
Two females got into a verbal argument. No crime was committed and deputies attempted to separate the two for the night. While making the plan, one of the females made suicidal statements.
