Nederland Police Reports - 25-01
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office had 225 calls for service in Nederland for the month of January. The calls for service included 4 animal complaints, 3 alarms, 2 suspicious activity, 13 fire/medical assists, 5 harassments, 2 trespassing complaints, 8 welfare checks, 1 child abuse, 1 narcotics violation, 1 domestic violence, 2 suicidal persons, 1 noise complaint, and 3 thefts.
Included in the calls for service, deputies conducted approximately 265 traffic stops, responded to 11 assists and 2 parking complaints. Not including the accidents, deputies issued approximately 148 citations and 39 written warnings.
At the request of one of the Trustees, the attached graph will show Time of Calls for Service. It is broken down into the 24 hour clock. If a time is not present, it means there were no calls for service in that hour for this month.
Calls of Note:
A couple smoke reports due to the fog creeping up the canyon, one in Coal Creek Canyon and one in Jamestown). Nice and sunny up top above the fog for most of the day, until the inevitable change.
Harassment
A 60 year old female stated her 31 year old son was harassing her. No evidence of a crime. Co-responder assisted with mediation.
Welfare Check
A 51 year old male staying in his car in town because he didn’t want to get his vehicle stuck in the woods. Educated about camping in town.
Theft
A resident returned home after being out of town for a couple weeks and found someone had taken his 275 gallon water tote tank from his driveway. No leads or suspects after talking to neighbors.
Trespass
A homeowner got home after being gone for a week. Woke up and noticed that someone had entered her shed, removed her cooking stove and was using it on an outside outlet. Nothing taken or damaged. No leads.
Extra Patrol
Ned Ice Rink. People have been on the ice rink at night. They close at 9 p.m. and nobody should be there after that.
Welfare Check
APS called for a welfare check on a 73 year old female because they were not able to contact her via phone. Deputies responded to the residence and found her to be ok.
Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor / Child Abuse No Injury
A female called about her 46 year old roommate who was giving her 12 year old son alcohol and marijuana. The roommate was arrested and lodged at the jail.
Agency Assist
While working traffic extra duty, a green Subaru Outback flew by driving on a rim with severe front and rear damage. Stopped him as he was pulling into his driveway. He was in an accident and went off the road 10 miles down Boulder Canyon, and proceeded to drive up to Nederland to avoid a tow. CSP completed a DUI investigation.
Welfare Check
Completed a check on an 11-year old. He was found to be ok.
Safe2Tell
Received a self harm Safe2Tell regarding a 17 year old male. Conducted a welfare check, the male was well and in good health, and denied the self harm claims.
Civil
RP called today stating her common law husband Ian and her have been spending "time apart." He threatened to change the locks. Deputies were unable to contact the husband. More follow up.
Hit and Run
Working traffic Extra Duty, when a female stated her vehicle was side swiped by a white Honda Ridgeline. Deputies will investigate.
Criminal Mischief/Harassment/Reckless Endangerment/DV
A 34 year old male harassed a 43 year old female at a café. He waited for her at her vehicle, confronted her and jumped on her hood. She pepper sprayed him to get away and had a witness call for help. The male was arrested and lodged at the jail.
Lost Wallet
A 38 year old female lost her wallet at Ace. She believed someone found it and was using her ID because she received emails. She cancelled all debit/CC's so no money was taken.
Medical Assist
A 38 year old female overdosed on an unknown type of pills. There were several prescribed bottles empty around. She was given several doses of Narcan. It was determined not to be a suicide attempt.
Burglary / Violation of Protection Order / Theft / Trespass
A 47 year old male recently arrested returned to an address he was restrained from and broke into a vehicle and garage and stole a backpack and tablet. Deputies are investigating and obtaining an arrest warrant for the suspect.
