Dear Editor,
I had the great pleasure to work for the county for over twenty years in the Assessor's Office. When April came into office four years ago the atmosphere changed like a bright star in the sky.
On April's first day in office, she wanted to be fully involved in all aspects of the department and did she ever. There isn’t a role in the office she can’t do or handle.
Over the last four years, the State legislators have made many changes in the rules and statutes on how the Assessors where to report values to the State Regulatory members and this caused (7) seven Assessors from different counties to reassign before their terms were up due to the complexity of the ever-changing rules. Not April, she put her head down and said we can do this because the property owners of the county desire to be treated with respect and fairness.
With all the past changes by the State of Colorado and new ones coming down the pipe, an experienced and seasoned individual must remain in the role of Assessor. April Nielsen is that person, I therefore ask the voters to re-elect her as your county Assessor.
Thank you,
David Kurronen
