Former resident Kathleen Viola Stoeckley passed away peacefully at Advent Health Parkway Hospital in Palm Coast, Florida, on Monday, February 10, 2025, after a long illness. She had just turned 74 years old.
At the time of her death, Kathy was surrounded by her husband of 51 years (Tom), son (Andrew), and daughter (Heidi).
Kathy and Tom retired in Nederland, Colorado, for over ten years. Kathy spent much of her retirement making art, from wood carvings to dolls, sculptures, stationery and paintings.
Until her illness, she was known to walk daily for miles. She loved to camp and hike, but her greatest love was cross-country skiing.
Above all, Kathy loved to travel and learn all about the native people and cultures of her world. She frequently journeyed across the globe, visiting her children in Asia and Europe and exploring remote destinations like Antarctica and the Amazon rainforest.
To honor and pay respect to Kathy, her family asks that donations be given in her name to The National Eye Institute, where Kathy wished to support research in eye health.
