My beloved partner, John Walter Bayer (Jack, Jackie Bayer, Jackie Bear, Jackster) died on November 4, 2024.
This kind man was born to Grace and John Bernard Bayer in Oceanside, NY on 1/29/1950. Jack was a star athlete playing soccer and lacrosse at Oceanside High School, graduating in 1968. He moved to Nederland in the 70s.
Jack’s kind sweet smile will be missed by many Nedheads and Gilbillies. He is survived by his partner Bonny Nash, his children Danielle Bayer and Jackson Bayer, two sisters Ellen and Carolyne, and a multitude of friends.
Our loss is huge. Our tribute to Jack is to continue sharing these gifts of goodness, kindness, a sense of adventure and happiness that he gave us with each other. A celebration of life will be held this summer.
