Trotting through the Rockies

Posted

Trotting horses through the Rocky Mountains may be a dream for most, but here it can be a reality. Mountains, trees, lakes, and trails are calling your name. Imagine your boots in the stirrups, hands on the reins, as you ride into the sunset on a beautiful equine.

Ginger DeRay, late founder of A&A Historical Trails Stables, spent her life in the saddle. Born in Grand Lake in 1955, she was raised around horses and learned early on the value of hard work and connection to the land.

From running trail rides as a teenager to managing her stables across Colorado, Ginger's life always followed the hoofprints of her passion. Today, her daughter, Mazie, operates out of the historic ghost town of Russell Gulch, offering personalized horseback rides through the Rockies. With deep gratitude for her family and the mountain trails she calls home, Mazie welcomes riders to share the experience.

A & A offers full moon, graveyard, and gambling spree rides. The latter allows you to ride to famous Central City Casinos, try your luck at the slots, then return on your trusty steed.

More information can be found at https://www.aastables.com/. One hour costs $70, 90 minutes is $95.
