Nederland Elementary School (NES) hosted their Back to School Night on August 28 to welcome and inform parents about the school and their children’s classes.

Principal Caleb Melamed welcomed families at the start of the evening. He said, “We are off to a great start.” He highlighted the school’s positive behavior plan, Social Emotional Learning, and last year’s CMAS scores. He stated that there is much to celebrate with the improved CMAS scores, which improve where NES stands among BVSD schools.

NES is always looking to where else they can improve as well. Social Emotional Learning, for example, should lead to children developing more confidence and resilience as they learn how to recognize and respond to their feelings.

Parents were then invited to their children’s classrooms to learn about the daily routine and upcoming events, and to become acquainted with their teachers.

Have a wonderful school year students, parents, and staff at NES!
