PEAK TO PEAK - On Monday, May 26, 2025, the 45th BOLDERBoulder took place on the streets of Boulder, Colorado.
This race has been a 10K challenge since its inception in 1979. The first year there were 2,700 people registered to run the race. This year, 46,664 made it to the finish line inside of Folsom Field on the University of Colorado campus. People came from all 50 US states and 18 different countries.
The race has grown to include elite wheelchair athletes (women and men), professional runners, and a citizen’s race. The A wave of the citizen’s race are top athletes. As the waves get further down in the alphabet the more joggers are seen—all moving, exercising, and loving the BOLDERBoulder experience.
It is a race that welcomes both a novice 10K runner and an experienced 10K runner. They also encourage kids to join in.
From the Peak to Peak region, two 11-year-olds ran the BOLDERBoulder, Evan Troy and Kamran Farnejad.
The BOLDERBoulder wants people to keep moving throughout their lives. The runner with the most birthdays from the Peak to Peak was Annie Gaddy (73).
The Peak to Peak top local male and female finishers were Alex Parulis (38) of Nederland, who finished 461st in a time of 37:28; and Kristen Felix (38) of Nederland, who finished 5225th overall (1312th place female) in a time of 53:09. Finishing just behind Felix was Sukee Bennett (34) of Nederland in a time of 53:33.
Earning top finishes in their age divisions were: James Hickman of Allenspark (5th place, age 64), Alex Parulis (7th place, age 38), and Ellie Najjar of Nederland (7th place, age 63).
Kameron Troy of Nederland ran in the 2025 BOLDERBoulder with both of her kids. Her daughter Lily Troy improved on her time from last year, and her son Evan Troy ran in his first BOLDERBoulder. She said that both kids are already talking about running in the race again next year.
Kameron thinks the community support for the runners along the route “is unlike anything I’ve seen at other races.” She thought Cotton Candy Corner was especially impressive.
Kameron says, “There’s something truly special about running into the stadium—the excitement, the smiles—it’s such a different atmosphere from other races.” It is truly thrilling to come running into Folsom Stadium and hear the crowd.
“This was also the first time I was able to stay and watch the professional runners finish. What an amazing experience! Seeing those athletes in action was inspiring, and the memorial tribute afterward was incredibly moving. The entire day really is something special.”
Keep moving Peak to Peak runners! Let’s show them what “Sea Level is for Slackers” really means.
