Hello friends and neighbors,
I wanted to write a sincere thank you to our wonderful staff members who are retiring this year. John Scarffe has been with The Mountain-Ear off and on since 1991. His wife, Anne, has been with us since 2014. Both have been an integral part of bringing the paper forward to where it is now, not only surviving, but thriving.
John has covered every single government beat we have. Anne has taken photos for over a decade of both John's coverage area and her own photo essays.
If you'd like to send John and Anne a holiday card, a thank you card, or any correspondence, please send them to us at The Mountain-Ear, PO Box 99, Nederland, CO 80466. We'll make sure they are forwarded to their new home in Salt Lake City.
John and Anne, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Your work, but more importantly your friendship and support, mean the world to me. I wish you well on your new adventure. You will both be greatly missed!
Sincerely,
Barbara Hardt
Black Hawk
