NEDERLAND - Dozens of local residents joined the July 17 “Good Trouble Lives On” protest adjacent to the Peace Garden along Highway 119 in Nederland.
Protests were held in communities in all 50 states to protest the policies of the Trump Administration and to honor the legacy of the late Congressman John Lewis, an advocate for civil rights and civil disobedience.
He famously stated: “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble to redeem the soul of America.” The protests coincided with the fifth anniversary of his death.
