Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office Report, September 2025   

On 9/1/25, deputies responded to assist gaming officers in the 400 block of Main Street, Black Hawk. A report was made. 

On 9/1/25, at approximately 8:19 p.m., a deputy was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 119 mile marker 1.5, unincorporated Gilpin County. A traffic stop was completed, upon clearing the driver, it was discovered the driver had a warrant for their arrest. 

On 9/2/25, a deputy took a report over the phone for an alleged cold assault that occurred at S Dory Lakes Drive, Gilpin County. A report was later written. 

On 9/3/25, at approximately 7:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to an unresponsive party with a gun located at the 100 block of Elk Place, Black Hawk. A report was taken. 

On 9/4/25, a deputy made a traffic stop on four off road vehicles located at the intersection of Moon Gulch Road and Highway 119. A male party was later arrested for an outstanding warrant. 

On 9/4/25, at approximately 12 p.m., minor property damage occurred at Jefferson County Jail involving a Gilpin County jail vehicle. A report was later completed.



On 9/4/25, at approximately 7:04 p.m., a male party turned himself into the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office on an active warrant. He was taken into custody and processed into the detention facility. 

On 9/5/25, at approximately 11:34 a.m., an in-custody party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on three outstanding active, valid warrants. A report was later completed. 

On 9/7/25, at approximately 2:23 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 19000 block of 

Highway 119 for a welfare check. A female was transported to the hospital.

On 9/8/25, at approximately 9:55 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a cold dog bite at Powder Run Drive, Central City. A report was completed.  

On 9/8/25, at approximately 3:58 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the report of a suspicious incident at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office. A report was taken.  

On 9/8/25, deputies responded to the Century Casino parking garage, in regards to a theft. A report was made. 

On 9/8/25, at approximately 5:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Boulder County area on a report of a trespass. An investigation was conducted. A report was taken. 

On 9/9/25, at approximately 11 a.m., all fire service was dispatched to a structure fire at the 600 block of Highway 46, Black Hawk.

On 9/9/25, at approximately 6:40 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to an unresponsive party located at the 400 block of Old Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk. A report was taken. 

On 9/10/25, a deputy took a report for an alleged dog bite with injury that occurred on Atlantis Road, Gilpin County. A report was later written. 

On 9/10/25, deputies were dispatched to an address on South Beaver Creek Road 

on a possible trespass. Upon arrival, the vehicle was parked in a wide spot on the road, no one was seen around, when the license plate was cleared it came back stolen. 

On 9/10/25, at approximately 5 p.m., a deputy was advised by dispatch that a female party located in the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office wanted to speak to a deputy about a possible protection order. A report was taken. 


On 9/11/25, at approximately 2:15 a.m., deputies responded to the 500 block of the Central City Parkway for a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle accident.  

On 9/12/25, at approximately 10:28 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of mile marker 3 Highway 119, Black Hawk, on a report of an accident. A party was transported to a local hospital and a report was completed.  

On 9/12/25, deputies assisted Colorado Parks and Wildlife on a possible moose poaching. It was determined the party had a valid tag and the animal was harvested legally. A report was made. 

On 9/14/25, at approximately 5:52 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of High Street, Central City, on a party sitting on the edge of a wall talking to himself. The party was transported to a hospital for observation.

On 9/14/25, at approximately 1:55 p.m., deputies responded to the report of an assault at a residence in mid-county. During the course of the investigation, a party on scene was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the jail. 

On 9/15/25, at approximately 7:33 a.m., deputies were dispatched to North County Road, Rollinsville, for a bear locked in a vehicle. Deputies were able to release the bear from the car. 

On 9/15/25, at approximately 12:48 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Forest Star Drive, Black Hawk, for a disturbance. A male and female were arrested on outstanding warrants. 

On 9/15/25, at approximately 1:53 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a cold assault located at the 400 block of Athena Road, Black Hawk. A report was taken.  

On 9/16/25, at approximately 5:30 p.m., dispatch informed a deputy a female party was in the sheriff's office lobby to surrender a firearm. A report was taken.  

On 9/17/25, a deputy took a report for a mail theft that allegedly occurred at Morning Star Circle, Gilpin County, 9/8/25. A report was later written. 

On 9/17/25, at approximately 2:20 p.m., an individual entered the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office lobby to turn himself in on a warrant. A deputy arrested the individual on this warrant and booked him into the Gilpin County Detention Facility.  

On 9/18/25, at approximately 12:07 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle blocking the number two lane of travel in the 6200 block of Highway 119 in Black Hawk.

On 9/18/25, at approximately 9:30 a.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle collision located at mile marker 1.5 Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was made and the investigation turned over to the Colorado State Patrol. 

On 9/18/25, at approximately 1 p.m., an individual that was already in custody at the Gilpin County Jail was booked into custody on an additional Gilpin County warrant. 

On 9/19/25, at approximately 10:10 a.m., a deputy took a call for service at the Gilpin 

County Sheriff’s office. A report was completed.  

On 9/19/25, at approximately 4:04 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a citizen assist in the 400 block of Main Street, Black Hawk. An adult male was taken into custody on an active warrant. 

On 9/19/25, at approximately 10:56 p.m., a deputy was dispatched for a fraud/forgery call to be handled by phone call. A report was taken. 

On 9/20/25, at approximately 11:53 p.m., deputies responded to the 2700 block of Coyote Circle, Black Hawk in regards to a dog issue. A report was made.  

On 9/20/25, at approximately 9:20 a.m., a license plate was found near mile marker 2, Highway 46, Black Hawk. The license plate was booked into evidence for safe keeping.

On 9/20/25, at approximately 12:45 p.m., a deputy was conducting a zone check in the 

area of Highway 46, Black Hawk, unincorporated Gilpin County. A traffic stop turned into a DUI investigation and an arrest. A report was completed.  


On 9/20/25, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a disturbance in the 500 block of Columbine Campground Road. Two adult males were taken into custody on misdemeanor charges. 

On 9/20/25, at approximately 5 p.m., a deputy responded to a call regarding lost property in the area of Apex Valley Road, Black Hawk. A report was made 

On 9/20/25, at approximately 11:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Grand Z Casino in regards to a disturbance. A report was made. 

On 9/21/25, at approximately 5:05 a.m., Gilpin deputies, Gilpin medics,Timberline Fire, and Colorado State Patrol responded to the area of mile miler 2 on Highway 46, Black Hawk, on the report of a single vehicle injury motor vehicle crash. A person was arrested on warrants and DUI. 

On 9/21/25, a male party came into the sheriff's office to turn himself in on a warrant. The individual was arrested and a report was written. 

On 9/22/25, at approximately 10:23 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Indian Peak Road for a suicidal party. A report was made.  

On 9/24/25, at approximately 1:40 a.m., deputies responded to an unconscious party located near the 200 block of Crest View Drive, Black Hawk. A report was made. 

On 9/24/25, at approximately 11:25 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the phone report for a cold burglary located at Elk Meadow Lane, Black Hawk. A report was made.  

On 9/24/25, at approximately 4:32 p.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a current person experiencing incarceration. The person was detained and processed into the Gilpin County Detention Facility. 

On 9/25/25, at approximately 7:20 p.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident located near mile marker 22 Highway 72, Golden. A report was made.

On 9/26/25, at approximately 9:20 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries located at Timberline Fire Department Station 5. A report was completed.  

On 9/26/25, at approximately 4 p.m., a female party was taken into custody at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office on an active warrant. She was processed into the detention facility without issue.  

On 9/27/25, at approximately 2 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Gregory Street, Central City, for a theft. A report was taken. 

On 9/27/25, at approximately 3 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a harassment call located in the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane, Central City. A report was made.



On 9/28/25, at approximately 4:04 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Yankee Hill and Forest Service Road 175.3 in unincorporated Gilpin County on an injury accident. 

On 9/28/25, at approximately 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Bristlecone Way, Black Hawk, in regards to suspicious activity. A report was made.  

On 9/29/25, at approximately 6:35 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the area of 6500 Central City Parkway for a disabled animal in the roadway. The animal was dispatched and a report was completed. 

On 9/29/25, at approximately 3:17 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles at 600 block of Highway 46, unincorporated Gilpin County. The scene was forwarded over to Colorado State Patrol.

On 9/29/25, at approximately 7:17 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Pine Drive, Black Hawk, in regards to a civil issue. A report was made.  

On 9/30/25, at approximately 1:22 p.m., a deputy was in contact with an individual who was found to have an active warrant out of Arapahoe County, Colorado. The subject was taken into custody at 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk. The individual was booked into Gilpin County Jail. 

On 9/30/25, at approximately 8:29 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 100 block of Gregory Street, Central City. A report was made. 

On 9/30/25, at approximately 10:35 p.m., an individual turned themselves in on a warrant through the main lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office.
