Dear Editor,
Celebrate Easter Sunday at Nederland Community Presbyterian Church. The celebration will begin at 9 a.m. with an Easter Egg Hunt on the church grounds and a Sourdough Pancake Breakfast in the fellowship hall. The pancakes will be made using a recipe provided by Ernie Betaso, a homesteader and long-time rancher in the Sugarloaf area. Church member Jim Hubbard will be the chief flapjack flipper!
The breakfast and egg hunt will be followed by the 10 a.m. Easter Sunday Worship Service in the sanctuary. All are welcome to the family and dog friendly church.
Many longtime Nederland residents will remember that Ernie, along with Dick Scates, had a ranch in the Magnolia area, ran cattle in our area in the winter and together took their herds up to the Tolland area in the summers. Dick's sister, Edith, was a long-time member of Nederland Community Presbyterian Church. For years the church held one of its summer services on the Scates ranch.
Nederland Community Presbyterian Church is located at 210 N. Jefferson Street. For more information about the church visit www.nederlandpres.org.
