COAL CREEK CANYON - Coal Creek Canyon residents and families celebrated Mother’s Day with a pancake breakfast at the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Hall on May 10, 2025, from 7 to 11 a.m. More than 60 people attended the event.
The menu included eggs, sausage, juice, and coffee and cost $11 for members, $13 for non-members, and $6 for children. Proceeds went to the scholarship fund.
The Premier Credit Union offered free flowers for mothers. Jasmine Sticka, Kelsey Martin, and Makayla Defebio presented the flowers to each mother at the breakfast.
Shelley Peters-Schaller, a certified massage therapist and esthetician, offered chair massages. Marie Marsche, who has been painting since high school, painted portraits for the moms, each portrait taking 15 minutes.
She presented more than six portraits that day.
Janice Batt sat at the ticket table and Suzy Schemel filled in everywhere. In the kitchen and serving were Elena Ney, Jeannie Ney, Norma Cassin, Jeremy Turnmeyer, Kerry and Julie Sorlie, Steven Floyd, and Caron Huffman.
On May 12, the Hall hosted a meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. for Coal Creek Canyon businesses, at which they discussed their membership and development of their directory.
On June 8, CCCIA will host the Father’s Day Spaghetti Dinner.
