COAL CREEK CANYON — Local nonprofit organization Canyon Cares has provided over $1 million in emergency assistance, from housing and medical bills to automobile repairs, since 2006.
As a celebration of those 20 years, the organization hosted an evening gathering on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
From 6 to 9 p.m., community members arrived at the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association for a group dinner and live music from Branden Sipes.
For Canyon Cares, the event served as a way to thank the community for supporting the organization and keeping it going for 20 years.
Lindy Lewis, member of the Board of Directors, emphasized that a nonprofit like Canyon Cares can only flourish through consistent community support.
That support is the primary reason Canyon Cares has continued for the past 20 years, so events like these are another way the organization can give back to the community.
