Traveling some distance

I suddenly realized

The distance was increasing

While I was still reaching

Toward the end

With no end in sight

Only distance

I tried to consume with all my might

Then, I tried dividing the distance

With my mind while looking at segments

Some shorter…some longer…some in between the others

When finally I arrived at what seemed to be

The end of a particular distance

Then, I finally realized

I was traveling in a circle

It was then I realized the many times

That I had traveled great distances

To buy things that were circular

Like once upon a time…when

I may have only been eight

I traveled some distance to buy a tire

To replace the flat tire on my bike

That I had been riding around in circles on.
