NEDERLAND - The spooky spirit of the season was resurrected on Saturday, October 25, at TEENS, Inc. for the annual Halloween Ned, one of the only events in town where children and adults alike can have a little fright with their fun—all designed, organized, and managed by Nederland students.

This year, Chinook West students Daniel, Chris, Reyland, and Jade worked with TEENS, Inc. educators to make Halloween Ned a successful fundraiser, as well as a special experience for those young trick-or-treaters looking for candy. They also managed to create activities to spend all that sugar-enhanced energy on.

From noon to 2:30 p.m., the TEENS, Inc. gymnasium echoed with screams of joy, rather than terror, as every corner was packed with costumed kids of all sizes, playing carnival games, swinging into the foam pit, challenging one another at air hockey, and taking funny photos together.

After filling up on the sweet and savory treats provided by Christine and Mark—from bowls of belly-warming chili and hot dogs, to a variety of tasty cookies and cupcakes—attendees gathered in the main meeting room for a special show.

Magician extraordinaire Doc Murdock wowed the crowd with sleight-of-hand. He also introduced many of his furry friends, some of which were loud, some nervous, and one which Murdock volunteered to be hypnotized, much to the delight of the young audience.

A very special thanks to those who toiled to craft this entertainingly spooky event, for using their imagination and creativity to create an experience that put smiles on so many faces.
