CENTRAL CITY — A community favorite is returning to Central City this year.
The third annual Taste of Gilpin will be held November 12, 2026, at the historic Teller House. It's also one of my favorite events of the year, and for good reason.
The event features chefs and culinary artists from around the region competing to present the best bite and the best sip. There are competitions for best entrée, best cocktail, and best dessert.
It's a fun way to try some of the area's best food, all in one place. And maybe discover a new favorite restaurant along the way.
The way it works: Several chef stations represent the competitors in the back room of the Teller House, each with a spread of food and drink samples. You can grab as many of the samples as you please but leave room to try everything.
As you dine and sip, check out the local art and other goods featured in the silent auction in the front room.
The evening is a fundraiser for the Gilpin County Arts Association, and it's a chance to pick up something special while supporting local artists.
The nonprofit arts association is celebrating its 79th year—quite an accomplishment.
Taste of Gilpin runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Teller House, 120 Eureka Street. It's a 21-and-over event; tickets tend to sell out, so don't wait too long.
Tickets are available at gilpinarts.org or tinyurl.com/GCAAFundraiser. For more information, call 303-582-5952.
