The warmer season is upon us, and the sweet sounds of summer activities provide residents with more reasons to enjoy the Rocky Mountains.

At the Gilpin County Community Center (GCCC), the summer leagues have hit the ground running with only a couple of practices under their belt. Two tee-ball teams, two minors teams, and one majors team all make up the leagues at the community center.

Teams are divided into age groups: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13, and adults. Team names are still a work in progress, and Recreation Coordinator Connor Robinson shares, “We’re excited to partner with Clear Creek Recreation again and play some games on their fields.”

Games started in late May and will go through mid-July, offering residents many opportunities to support the GCCC and enjoy the beautiful Rocky Mountains summer weather.

The Gilpin County Community Center is located at 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk. You can find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/gilpincounty.org or you can give them a call at 303- 582-1453.
