You do not have to go to California or Massachusetts—you can just go to Nederland Middle-Senior High School, as they are performing Legally Blonde The Musical as their spring musical.
This show is replete with joyful, youthful singing and dancing. The plot is similar to the movie Legally Blonde, with the music creating a more in-depth storyline and added vocal numbers. The song "Chip on My Shoulder" is beautifully sung by Elle, the young lawyer Emmett Forrest, and the ensemble. This song helps develop the story between Elle and Emmett.
They also sing a lovely ballad that brings the energy down for a few minutes in this fast-paced stage performance.
Emmett Forrest is played by sophomore Kyle King. Elle Woods is played by senior Sierra Tomlinson.
Tomlinson has had lead female roles for three of her four years in high school. In her final musical as a Nederland student she gives yet another exceptional vocal, dance, and theatrical performance.
From the ever-popular "Bend and Snap" to the courtroom drama, the cast clearly knows their choreography, music, and lines.
