NEDERLAND - The Nederland Community Library started off summer with a blast. Their Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party was held after school on the last day of the year for Nederland kids on May 22.
The library encourages kids to keep reading throughout the summer with their reading program titled "Color Our World." Kids can complete challenges in the reading program and win prizes.
The kick-off party had a bouncy house and inflatable Zorb Balls to excite and entertain the kids. A magical face painter arrived to transform the kids as well, while the Blue Canyon Boys provided music for everyone to dance to.
There was a book sale to help support the library while providing summer reading for all present. Mama Roo's food truck and Kona Shaved Ice delighted hungry kids and adults with their delicious offerings.
Encourage reading all year round and visit your local libraries.
