NEDERLAND — Students in the Nederland Middle-Senior High School Music Department filled the auditorium with music for two nights, October 19 and 20, offering their Fall concerts.

On Monday, October 19, the Middle School Altitunes choir and High School Festival Singers and Loquations choirs performed.

The 48-member Altitunes choir sang "Earworm" and "Riversong." "Earworm" could definitely get stuck in your head, and the choir showed skill for such young singers.

The Festival Singers performed "Catch a Falling Star." The Festival Singers and Loquations sang "Modimo" and the Trebles of Loquations and the Festival Singers sang "When I think of You."

The Altitunes and Festival Singers joined together to sing "Hope Lingers On." This one seemed especially to move the audience.

The choir concert ended with a touch of the Halloween spirit with all the choirs together singing "Ghost of Tom Round."

The Nederland Middle and High School bands and orchestras took the stage on October 20. The High School Band and Orchestra combined to play the first two numbers, "Artemis Rising" and "A Pirate's Legend." Then, the High School Orchestra played "Ballet No. 6."

The Middle School Orchestra performed "Kings of Stone," "Click Clack," and "Electric Sinfonia."

Middle School Band played "Dance of the the Jabberwocky," "The Lost Kingdom," and a very amusing piece, "Too Much Percussion."

The High School Band closed the concert with two rock tunes "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Low Rider."

It was a delight to hear the choirs sing and the musicians play. The choirs are directed by Alia Brand, with collaborative pianist Paul Faulk. The bands and orchestras are directed by Christine Mallery.
