Mountain Girl Pickles, founded by “Head Pickle Maker” Laraina James, has been honored with two prestigious Good Food Awards in recognition of its exceptional quality, flavor, and commitment to sustainability.
The awards, presented annually by the Good Food Foundation, celebrate the finest food and drink products from across the United States. Mountain Girl Pickles received the accolades for its signature Pickled Beets and Giardiniera. These two varieties stood out among thousands of entries for their outstanding taste, high-quality ingredients, and artisanal production methods. The company has previously won awards for its Corn Relish in 2022 and Pickled Okra in 2023.

“These pickles are basically the same ones my grandmother made,” James insists. She adds, “My first canning memories are of my Dad making strawberry jam.”
Nine years ago, James was working at the late, lamented Sundance Café. Customers loved the pickles she made for the café’s Bloody Marys so much they asked to buy them. That’s how Mountain Girl Pickles was born.
Since 2014, it has slowly expanded into a nationally distributed artisan product. Mountain Girl Pickles has built a loyal following since its inception, thanks to its dedication to quality and innovation. The company sources its cucumbers and other produce from local farms in Colorado, ensuring the freshest ingredients for its pickles.
