This letter was sent to parents of Nederland Middle-Senior High School students at 8:32 p.m. on March 11, 2025, from the Boulder Valley School District. 

Dear Nederland Middle/Senior High School,

As Principal Gavan Goodrich shared last month, he will be retiring at the end of the school year after 44 years of service in education where he spent the last three at Nederland Middle/Senior High School.

We want to announce that beginning in July, Principal Caleb Melamed will assume the position of Principal at Nederland Middle/Senior High while continuing as Principal at Nederland Elementary School. 

In order to maintain continuity of leadership and K-12 articulation in the Nederland community, the appointment of Caleb Melamed as the K-12 principal of the town's 2 schools was approved this evening by the board of education. The leadership structure for the elementary and MS/HS will therefore consist of one principal, one assistant principal/athletic director at the MS/HS and one assistant principal at the elementary school.

Caleb Melamed has been serving as the principal at Nederland Elementary School since 2020 and is dedicated to the community where he was raised and currently lives.

As he transitions into his additional role for next year feel free to welcome him when you see him.
