BLACK HAWK — This week you will have the opportunity to read the responses from all 10 Gilpin County candidates running for election in November. This is a big year, with a Commissioner spot open, our Sheriff retiring and that position open, our Assessor up for reelection, the Clerk and Recorder open, and our Treasurer up for reelection. All five openings have two candidates.

I sent out the questionnaires a few weeks ago and all were returned to us. We do not edit the answers at all. The only editing we do is removing extra spaces between the question and answer.

I hope you enjoy learning about these folks, who have stepped up as candidates for these important positions in Gilpin County.

Once you have read all of them, please send your questions for the Candidates Forum on September 26. Questions may be emailed to p2pcandidatequestions@gmail.com by Monday, September 14, to be considered for the forum. The forum will be held in the Commissioners’ meeting room at the Old Courthouse in Central City at 203 Eureka Street from 1 - 4 p.m.
