Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office Report, January 2026
On 1/1/26, at approximately 4:19 a.m., deputies performed a traffic stop in the 8000 block of the Central City Parkway in Central City.
On 1/1/26, at approximately 8:33 a.m., a deputy was on duty and contacted a suspicious vehicle located in a parking lot in the 100 block of Pine Street, Central City. An expired temporary Colorado Vehicle Registration was seized and a report was made.
On 1/1/26, a deputy took a call for service for a theft. A report was made.
On 1/1/26, at approximately 7 p.m., deputies assisted Black Hawk Police near the 400 block of Main Street, Black Hawk. A report was made.
On 1/1/26, at approximately 9:26 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of South Beaver Creek Road on a welfare check.
On 1/2/26, at approximately 1:32 a.m., deputies conducted a civil standby near the 2900 block of Coyote Circle, Black Hawk. A report was made.
On 1/5/26, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on mile marker 17 Highway 119 on a trailer with no license plates. A report was later made by the passenger for stolen license plates.
On 1/5/26, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at mile marker 7 on the Central City Parkway. Property damage occurred from the accident. A report was taken.
On 1/6/26, at approximately 4:30 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located near mile marker 3.5 on the Central City Parkway. A report was made.
On 1/7/26, a deputy responded to The Grand Z Casino for a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was later written.
On 1/7/26, a deputy took a call for service via telephone regarding a violation of protection order. A report was made.
On 1/7/26, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a deputy was advised by dispatch to assist Boulder deputies with an assault that occurred in Nederland (Boulder County). The suspect of the assault was confirmed to be living on Wedgwood Road. A report was made.
On 1/8/26, at approximately 7:45 a.m., a deputy was involved in a motor vehicle collision at mile marker 13.5, Highway 119. The incident involved a county owned vehicle and a state owned vehicle. A report was made and a deputy took a report over the phone, for a fraudulent incident that allegedly occurred at the 200 block of Severance Lodge Road. A report was later written.
On 1/8/26, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a person already in custody at the Gilpin County Jail was discovered to have an active and valid warrant. The person was arrested and then booked on this warrant.
On 1/10/26, at approximately 12:16 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle which the reporting party stated that they were blocked in and unable to leave, located at the Red Dolly Casino.
On 1/11/26, at approximately 2:15 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located at Main Street and Bridge Street.
On 1/11/26, at approximately 1:23 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located in the 7000 block Central City Parkway.
On 1/11/26, at approximately 1:37 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane Central City. The offending party was given a summons and a report was made.
On 1/12/26, at approximately 12:37 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a cold assault, which occurred in the area of Spring Street and Gregory Street. The deputy was further informed the party was at the Grand Z casino.
On 1/14/26, a deputy took a report for fraud/identity theft on Dory Hill Road. A report was later written.
On 1/14/26, deputies spotted a vehicle associated with a known fugitive. The fugitive was identified and a report was made.
On 1/14/26, a deputy took a report over the phone for potential elder abuse occurring in the 600 block of Louis Drive, Central City. The reporting party identified themselves as hospital staff and a mandatory reporter. A report was later written.
On 1/14/26, at approximately 9 p.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident with property damage near mile post 3 of Highway 119. An individual was remanded in court and booked into the jail.
On 1/15/26, at approximately 11:53 p.m., deputies performed a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lawrence Street in Central City.
On 1/16/26, at approximately 12 p.m., an in-custody party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on one outstanding active, valid warrant. A report was later completed.
On 1/16/26, at approximately 12:46 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Ameristar Casino to provide a courtesy ride to the Gilpin County Court. The party was arrested for an outstanding warrant. A report was completed.
On 1/17/26, at approximately 12:25 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Grand Z Casino on a report of found drugs. Suspected drugs were collected and a report was taken.
On 1/19/26, at approximately 7:39 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a party unconscious behind the wheel located at 14936 Highway 119. The party was arrested for DUI and a report was completed.
On 1/20/26, a deputy took a report from an email sent to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office in regards to fraudulent mail. A report was later written.
On 1/21/26, at approximately 5:20 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 1.3 Highway 119. The deputy observed a person that was in violation of a protection order. That person was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County jail.
On 1/22/26, a deputy responded to the 1300 block of Dory Lakes Drive for an unconscious party, not breathing, with a Do Not Resuscitate order (DNR). A report was later written.
On 1/22/26, a deputy responded to 100 block of E First High Street, Central City, for a reported hit and run. A report was later written.
On 1/22/26, a deputy responded to 5462 Highway 72 for a welfare check. A report was later written.
On 1/22/26, at approximately 9:17 p.m., deputies were dispatched near the 100 block of Main Street, in regards to a theft call for service. A report was made.
On 1/23/26, at approximately 8:22 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Foxtail Circle for an in-progress disturbance.
On 1/24/26, at approximately 2 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block of Brewery Drive in Central City.
On 1/24/26, at approximately 4:50 a.m., deputies took a phone report for a cold assault.
On 1/26/26, at approximately 2:50 p.m., a female was arrested in the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office lobby on two outstanding warrants.
On 1/26/26, a Gilpin County investigator was assigned to assist with logging old hard copy case files into the new ProSuite records Management system, to assist with evidence streamlining management for Central City Case 77-0324.
On 1/27/26, at approximately 3:06 a.m., deputies responded near the 3000 block of Gap Road in regards to a motor vehicle accident. A report was made.
On 1/27/26, at approximately 11:37 a.m., a deputy was on duty when they received a walk-in report of a theft located in the 2400 block of Highway 46. A report was made.
On 1/27/26, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a fraud, the reporting party was located at the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane. A report was taken.
On 1/28/26, a deputy handled a call for service regarding a dog issue via telephone. A report was made.
On 1/30/26, at approximately 6:40 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of a property damage hit and run crash which had occurred in the 100 block on Lawrence Street, Central City. A report was taken.
