Eldora Ski Resort closes for the season

ELDORA SKI RESORT – Eldora has been a favorite local ski destination since its opening in 1962. Today, it features Colorado’s most extensive snowmaking system, covering 100% of its groomed terrain—more than any other resort in the state.

The base area sits at 9,200 feet, with the summit reaching 10,600 feet. For expert skiers, the most challenging runs are accessed via the Corona lift, where double black diamond glades offer steeps, cliffs, and rugged terrain.

Conveniently located just 21 miles from Boulder and 47 miles from Denver, Eldora offers 680 acres of skiable terrain close to the Front Range.

This year, closing day at Eldora fell on Easter, April 20. Skiers and snowboarders dressed in costumes brought the party to the mountain.

Live music by Conaxx rocked the Timbers deck, and people soaked up the sunshine while watching the Pond Skim.

An Eldora employee wearing an Easter Bunny outfit skied down the hill with a basket, handing out eggs with candy.

At 4 p.m., the stoke was high, as skiers and snowboarders loaded onto the 6-person chair of the Alpenglow lift to ride the mountain one last time. The very last chair was reserved for ski patrol and Eldora employees.

Until next season, Eldora!
