Run a 5K, Have a Great Beverage: Hey folks! On May 9, we’re serving drinks and major encouragement at the popular 5K Wined-up run/walk at the Gilpin County Community Center. Come have fun at your own pace! Bring a friend or dog and get some good exercise! Prizes for fastest runners in each age category, PLUS a prize drawing for all participants and a free goblet and wine for adults, with water and non-alcoholic beverages available. Registration is only $25, and proceeds go to support Friends of Gilpin County Community Center. Free Health Screenings at the Health & Wellness Fair: Take a quick step toward better health! Gilpin County Public Health is offering free community health screenings during the Health & Wellness Fair. Stop by between 9:30 a.m. and noon at the Gilpin County Community Center to check important health indicators, including: cholesterol & lipids, glucose levels, blood pressure, oxygen levels, blood lead levels. This is a quick, convenient way to learn more about your health, ask questions, and connect with primary care resources. Peak to Peak Chorale Presents: “Rock Around the Peaks”: Please join The Peak to Peak Chorale on May 9 for their Spring Performance of "Rock Around the Peaks." The show includes hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s.
