Family Movie Matinee: Bring the kids for free popcorn and a movie as we watch the family-friendly film "Goat" in the meeting room. 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Gilpin County Public Library, 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Free Build! with LEGO: Drop by, create, and have fun with Lego, Duplo, and Knex! Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided. Adopt-a-Highway Clean Up: Join Wild Bear to help clean up the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway. Wild Bear will be committed to keeping our roadways clean from Mud Lake, past our new nature center, and to Nederland. Join the crew and help keep our environment clean and safe! The Wisdom of Spring Herbs: Plant Allies for cleansing, nourishment, and renewal. Learn about the benefits of spring herbs in a hands-on class led by Pamela Dumont of Earth Star Minerals & Botanicals and create multiple herbal recipes to take home and enjoy. 3 versus 3 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser: Get your team together and help us raise funds for Gilpin Mountain Kids' Early Learning Center! In partnership with the Gilpin County Recreation Center, we are hosting a double elimination 3 v 3 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser on April 12. Hot Topics in Mountain Land Management: Join specialists from Boulder County's CSU Extension as they talk about various land management topics, including: Fire-wise landscaping, the Mountain Pine Beetle, and biochar. 1 to 5 p.m. Nederland Community Library, 200 Highway 72, Nederland. 
Annual Chili Cook-Off: Come enjoy some delicious chili and raise funds for the Gilpin and Nederland fire departments! $3 per bowl of chili and $6 per chili dog. All proceeds benefit the fire departments. 2 to 5 p.m., Very Nice Brewing Company, 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

Art at the Center Opening Reception: This long-running exhibition celebrates the creativity of our mountain community and offers artists a wonderful opportunity to share their work with both locals and visitors over several months. Our opening reception is also our much-loved Annual Demo Show—a lively, hands-on evening with live artist demonstrations and informal workshops throughout the space. 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Nederland Community Center located at 750 Highway 72, Nederland.

Trivia Night: Enjoy a night of trivia and drinks in support of the Nederland Food Pantry and win fun prizes! 6:30 to 8 p.m., Busey Brews, 70 East 1st Street, Nederland.

"The People Who Built Central City": The Belvidere Theater Committee will host a fundraising presentation where local historian John Kittredge will lead the discussion, focusing on the contractors and builders who shaped Central City following the Great Fire of 1874. Starts at 4 p.m. at Monte Lobo, located at 131 Main Street, Central City. 

Cocktail Hour: Come kick back, relax, and unwind with great company and tasty drinks! Sip on creative cocktails created by Jen Kawata or enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer and enjoy good vibes and friends. 4 to 5 p.m., The Old Gallery, 14863, Highway 7, Allenspark.

CCCIA Canyon Bake Off: Cakes! Pies! And cookies! Prizes for 1st place and runner up. $10 tasting fee for adult members, $15 for adult non-members and $5 for child tasting fee. $20 competition fee.
