Trivia Night - With Very Nice Brewing and Wild Bear Nature Center. Trivia will be held at both tap rooms and will focus on nature trivia. Prizes! 7 - 9 p.m., 20 Lakeview Drive, #112, Nederland and 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

Gilpin County Early Childhood Resource Fair:  Expanding child care options and resources in Gilpin Countyand creating our own! Learn about the supports available to people providing child care. Hear the latest on Mountain Kids, family, friend, and neighbor child care (license-exempt), how to get a license to provide child care, summer camps for school-age kids and enrichment opportunities. You can also attend online! Please Email lisa@triadbrightfutures.org for Zoom link. Breakfast will be served. Child care is available. 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gilpin Library, 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk. 

High Altitude Gardening: Spring is in the air! Learn about mountain vegetable gardening. Local Botanist Denise Wilson, will talk about native plants and seeds. CSU Gilpin County Extension Service will present and answer questions. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Coal Creek Canyon Community Improvement Association located at 31528 Highway 72, Golden. 

Sunday May 18

Parents Afternoon Out: Everyone’s favorite. Caregivers can drop off their child above 5 years old at the library for an afternoon of crafts, games, and a movie. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72 North, Nederland.

Mini Market: Every other Sunday, come to the lot where Nederland Farmers Markets are held for our mini market featuring our robust produce booth coupled with two to three additional vendors. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 80 E Second Street, Nederland.

Town Hall with the Peak to Peak Chamber of Commerce:  Find out about the economic impact in January 2027 when the Sundance Film Festival is held in Boulder and how your business can get involved. 6 p.m., Busey Brews, 70 East 1st Street, Nederland.

Blood Drive: Come and donate blood! Blood saves lives and is always in short supply. Do your part! 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72 North, Nederland.

Wednesday, May 21

Bear, Moose, and Mountain Lion Safety: Join us for a FREE workshop to learn about bears, moose, and mountain lions in Colorado. We will discuss how to live safely among these animals, including tips for hiking and pet safety. No registration required. 5:30 p.m., Gilpin County Community Center, 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk.

Thriving Minds: Join Dr. Daria Redmon for “Thriving Minds: Cultivating Mental Wellness and Resilience in Later Life,” a presentation focused on practical tools and resources to support mental health as we age. This session will cover understanding resilience, simple ways to support cognitive health, finding meaning, and knowing where to turn for support, including resources covered by Medicare and Medicaid. 1- 2 p.m., Nederland Community Center, 750 Highway 72 North, Nederland.

Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party: “Color Your World.” Sign up prizes, games, face painting, inflatable Zorb balls, bouncy house, music by Blue Canyon Boys. 3 - 7 p.m., Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72 North, Nederland.

Sugarloaf Fire Department Annual Yard Sale: you’ll be amazed at the great deals. We’ll have anything you could possibly want. Tell your friends & co-workers. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., each day, Sugarloaf Fire Station #2, 1360 Sugar Loaf Road.

Saturday, May 24

Free Movie: Fahrenheit 451 (1966 - Not Rated). For the community to gather, watch, and share thoughts on this classic movie. Presented by Gilpin County Democrats. All are welcome to join us! Light refreshments will be provided. 2 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library, 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.
