Eggmania!: Bring your own hard boiled eggs or buy a dozen plastic eggs from us for $2. The Grange provides the dye and all other materials for decorating. There will be an indoor egg hunt starting at about 11:30 a.m. that will be managed by age. Baskets provided. 10 to 12 p.m. at the Golden Gate Grange Community Center located at 25201 Golden Gate Canyon Rd.

Butterfly and Larvae Identification Training: No experience is necessary! After training, participants can go out as citizen scientists and track/monitor what they see.  Please register at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScybqP5oWeZMkzC3sd45SrmOJgEl6s41GorhlSbOZwCzFixCA/viewform?pli=1. This program is hosted by the CSU Gilpin Extension from 9 to 5 p.m. at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. 

Easter Egg Hunt for Canyon Kiddos: Calling all canyon kids! There will be 1000 plastic eggs hidden on the hill behind the Hall. Toddlers’ egg hunt will be inside. Crafts, activities, cookies, cocoa, and the Easter Bunny! 12 to 2 p.m. at the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association, 31528 Highway 72.  

24th Annual Wild Earth Day at Wild Bear Nature Center: Celebrate with Wild Bear at this free community event filled with fun and learning for all ages. Explore engaging activities hosted by environmental organizations, each with interactive booths and educational handouts designed to inspire environmental stewardship. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet live Birds of Prey up close, presented by Nature’s Educators. With something for everyone, this is a day to connect with nature, learn how to make a difference, and enjoy a vibrant celebration of our planet. 1 to 4 p.m. at Wild Bear Nature Center, 20 Lakeview Drive, Suite 106, Nederland.

Free Movie: “Nineteen Eighty-Four” (R), Directed by Michael Radford. The Gilpin County Democrats will present this classic and thought-provoking movie and book discussion series exploring stories that challenge, inspire, and spark conversation. Each session will feature a film and a discussion about a book from the banned book list. Light snacks provided. Everyone is welcome. 2 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library, located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Caribou Village Easter Egg Hunt: The Easter Egg Hunt at Caribou Village Shopping Center is happening again this year!  Bring the kiddos, visit our amazing shops and restaurants, meet the Easter Bunny, and enter to win the Adult Easter Basket, filled with goodies from the shops. 12 to 2 p.m. at 20 Lakeview Drive, Nederland.

Nederland Presbyterian Church Easter Egg Hunt: Come enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by an Easter Egg Hunt! All are welcome to this community event located at 210 Jefferson Street, Nederland.

Very Nice Bingo Night and Potluck: Join us for Bingo in our Gilpin tap room. Casey, our host, will make this event a blast with lots of prizes!  Food for the night will be a potluck, so bring a dish to share, enjoy some Bingo, and some Very Nice brews! 6 to 8 p.m. at 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

Local Legends and Landmarks: Nederland Middle Senior High School 8th graders will present oral history readings as well as hosting history exhibits about local legends and landmarks. Starts at 1:45 p.m. at NMSHS, located at 597 County Road 130, Nederland. 

Family Movie Matinee: Bring the kids for free popcorn and a movie as we watch “Mufasa: The Lion King” in the meeting room. 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Gilpin County Public Library, located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

12th Annual Gilpin County Education Foundation Scholarship Dinner: This special evening helps us support graduating seniors as they pursue higher education, whether at a university, technical school, or community college. Since 2012, thanks to generous supporters like you, we have awarded over $97,500 in scholarships to Gilpin County students. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal (all dietary restrictions accommodated) and wine, while celebrating education and student success. Peak to Peak Safety Fair: You’re invited to join us for a free event to help enhance your wildfire safety awareness and preparedness. Lunch from Decent Bagel will be provided and we'll have free emergency weather alert radios to hand out to attendees! We look forward to connecting with you and working to make our community safer and more resilient to wildfire risk. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nederland Community Center located at 750 Highway 72, Nederland.

Boulder County Forest Protection Sharing Session: RIGHT NOW, our municipal, county, state, and federal governments are proposing millions of acres of aggressive, experimental forest “fuel reduction” across our Front Range public lands, including around Nederland. Learn more about this issue at the Nederland Community Library, located at 200 Highway 72, Nederland. Starts at 3:30 p.m.. 

Saturday, May 10

Nederland High School Bike Team Fundraiser: Ritual MTB Film features a stoke-filled collection of short films from some of the biggest names in mountain biking. All proceeds go directly to support Nederland High School team riders by covering the cost of team jerseys, race registration fees, team meals, and travel expenses throughout the season. Join us in supporting the next generation of riders and helping build a strong, inclusive team culture, both on and off the trail.  6 to 10 p.m. at the Backdoor Theatre, located at 750 Highway 72, Nederland.
