Egg Hunt and Dive: Come enjoy an Easter egg hunt and egg dive at the Gilpin County Community Center! There will be crafts and a bouncy house as well as a photo op with the Easter Bunny. Bring your suit and towel for the Egg Dive in the pool! 2 to 5 p.m. at 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk.

Chronic Pain and the Role of Fascial Restrictions: This presentation describes the details of fascia, causes of restrictions, and ideas for addressing fascial restrictions. Presenter Ella Zevenbergen has more than 20 years of experience as a bodyworker. She is currently focusing on fascial work involving organs, nerves, and arteries. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Low Vision Resource Fair: Information, support, and resources will be shared by representatives from the Center for People with Disabilities, Ensight, and Colorado Talking Library. 12 to 2 p.m. in the Senior Lounge at the Nederland Community Center, 750 Highway 72, Nederland.

Narcan and Harm Reduction: Seminar for the community. Learn about Narcan administration and harm reduction. Snacks provided. Register at https://nederland.libcal.com/event/14336273. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library, 200 Highway 72 N, Nederland.

Saturday, April 19

Butterfly and Larvae Identification Training: No experience is necessary! After training, participants can go out and track/monitor what they see as citizen scientists.  Please register at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScybqP5oWeZMkzC3sd45SrmOJgEl6s41GorhlSbOZwCzFixCA/viewform?pli=1. This program is hosted by the CSU Gilpin Extension from 9 to 5 p.m. at Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

Easter Egg Hunt for Canyon Kiddos: Calling all canyon kids! There will be 1000 plastic eggs hidden on the hill behind the Hall. Toddlers egg hunt will be inside. Crafts, activities, cookies, cocoa, and the Easter Bunny! 12 to 2 p.m. at the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association, 31528 Highway 72.  

24th Annual Wild Earth Day at Wild Bear Nature Center: Celebrate with Wild Bear at this free community event filled with fun and learning for all ages. Explore engaging activities hosted by environmental organizations, each with interactive booths and educational handouts designed to inspire environmental stewardship. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet live Birds of Prey up close, presented by Nature’s Educators. With something for everyone, this is a day to connect with nature, learn how to make a difference, and enjoy a vibrant celebration of our planet. 1 to 4 p.m. at Wild Bear Nature Center, 20 Lakeview Drive, Suite 106, Nederland.

Free Movie: “Nineteen Eighty-Four” (R), Directed by Michael Radford. The Gilpin County Democrats will present this classic and thought-provoking movie and book discussion series exploring stories that challenge, inspire, and spark conversation. Each session will feature a film and a discussion about a book from the banned book list. Light snacks provided. Everyone is welcome. 2 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library, located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Local Legends and Landmarks: Nederland Middle-Senior High School 8th graders will present oral history readings as well as hosting history exhibits about local legends and landmarks. Starts at 1:45 p.m. at NMSHS, located at 597 County Road 130, Nederland.

12th Annual Gilpin County Education Foundation Scholarship Dinner: This special evening helps us support graduating seniors as they pursue higher education, whether at a university, technical school, or community college. Since 2012, thanks to generous supporters like you, we have awarded over $97,500 in scholarships to Gilpin County students. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal (all dietary restrictions accommodated) and wine, while celebrating education and student success.
