Scott Roberts Art Exhibit: Scott Roberts is an accomplished acrylic painter with a passion for capturing the world through an imaginative lens. Roberts' work often reflects the beauty of the Colorado landscape, whimsical subjects, and the narratives of everyday life. His latest exhibit, "From the Far Side of My Right Brain," will be featured at the Gilpin County Library, showcasing his diverse range of artistic expression. Starting April 5 at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk and can be viewed during Gilpin County Public Library hours through May 31.

This class is designed to discuss essential topics that every parent should consider when planning for their child’s higher education. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nederland Community Library located at 200 Highway 72. 

Wednesday, April 9

Nice Talk: Join us for our next NICE talk with Old Soul Canine Rescue along with Cory and Nate from Nederland Veterinary Hospital! They’ll discuss senior pet health including mobility issues, diets, and keeping dogs and cats healthy in older years. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Very Nice Gilpin Tap Room located at 180 Jankowski Drive, Black Hawk.

CCCIA Community Game Night: Head to the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Hall for a community game night. Contact Jeremy at jmturnme@gmail.com if you’d like to participate. 7 to 9 p.m. at 31528 Highway 72.

Egg Hunt and Dive: Come enjoy an Easter egg hunt and egg dive at the Gilpin County Community Center! There will be crafts and a bouncy house as well as a photo op with the Easter Bunny. Bring your suit and towel for the Egg Dive in the pool! 2 to 5 p.m. at 250 Norton Drive, Black Hawk.

Chronic Pain and the Role of Fascial Restrictions: This presentation describes the details of fascia, causes of restrictions, and ideas for addressing fascial restrictions. Presenter Ella Zevenbergen has more than 20 years of experience as a bodyworker. She is currently focusing on fascial work involving organs, nerves, and arteries. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gilpin County Public Library located at 15131 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

Local Legends and Landmarks: Nederland Middle-Senior High School 8th graders will present oral history readings as well as hosting history exhibits about local legends and landmarks. Starts at 1:45 p.m. at NMSHS located at 597 County Road 130, Nederland. 

Saturday, April 26

12th Annual Gilpin County Education Foundation Scholarship Dinner: This special evening helps us support graduating seniors as they pursue higher education, whether at a university, technical school, or community college. Since 2012, thanks to generous supporters like you, we have awarded over $97,500 in scholarships to Gilpin County students. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal (all dietary restrictions accommodated) and wine, while celebrating education and student success.
