Black Hawk Police Reports, February 2026
On 2/1/26, at approximately 12:18 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a hit and run. Upon investigation, the victim's vehicle was damaged, and the investigation is ongoing to attempt to identify the suspect.
On 2/1/26, at approximately 2:31 a.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at 333 Main Street for disregarding a traffic control device at Gregory Street and Main Street. The driver had a suspended license. The driver was issued a penalty assessment and proof of service.
On 2/1/26, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino for a report of a concerning note left on a hotel guests' door. Officers made contact with the guest and the person who left the note on the door. It was determined the note was meant for another individual and nothing criminal had occurred.
On 2/1/26, at approximately 1:20 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop for a male driver driving at a high rate of speed on Main Street. The driver said he didn't know the speed limit and then guessed it was 40 mph. The driver was told the correct speed is 15 mph and released with a warning.
On 2/1/26, at approximately 4:48 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino, on a report of an unlawful sexual contact complaint. The suspect was contacted, issued a summons, and released.
On 2/1/26, at approximately 6:12 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino parking garage, on a physical disturbance. The female party was contacted and stated that they were friends who were arguing over an incident that happened in the metro area.
On 2/1/26, Black Hawk officers responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of a theft. A suspect has been identified, a summons was issued and a report was taken.
On 2/2/26, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Black Hawk officers were flagged down at the Monarch Casino, for a report of a disturbance. Officers reviewed surveillance and determined there was no physical altercation, and the parties were released without further incident.
On 2/2/26, officers responded to the Wild Card Casino on the report of a road rage incident that occurred in Central City. After reviewing surveillance footage, no evidence of a crime was observed.
On 2/2/26, at approximately 11 a.m., Black Hawk officers were notified by the Public Works Department of a damaged U-Turn sign on Main Street in front of Lodge Casino. The time frame for when the damage occurred is being investigated. The sign was photographed and will be repaired by Public Works.
On 2/2/26, an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Hidden Treasure regarding a damaged stop sign. Photographs were taken, and a report was taken for documentation.
On 2/2/26, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a possible vehicle accident with minor injuries. The driver did not wish to pursue charges.
On 2/3/26, at approximately 10:48 a.m., officers received a call at 120 Main Street for a male party that was asked to leave on a previous contact but was back on scene. Officers made contact with the male party and cleared him through dispatch. The male party had multiple warrants and was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/3/26, officers responded to the Black Hawk Water Department on the report of a non-injury vehicle accident. The accident involved two city vehicles.
On 2/3/26, Black Hawk officers were advised of a REDDI report of a vehicle traveling north bound on Highway 119. Black Hawk officers located the vehicle, a gold Chevrolet Classic at mile marker 6 traveling north bound Highway 119. Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the Peak to Peak parking lot. Upon contact, officers did not observe any signs of impairment as well as no driving actions. The driver was free to go.
On 2/3/26, Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle traveling west on Main Street with no head lights and tail lights on. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at mile marker 5.8. A verbal warning was issued.
On 2/4/26, officers responded to Lodge Casino on report of a voicemail being left with terroristic threats. Officers reviewed the voicemail and officers made efforts to identify the individual who made the threats. This case is active pending further investigation.
On 2/4/26, an officer was issued a cold harassment report that occurred at the Monarch Casino. The officer conducted the initial investigation, and the case was reissued to another officer.
On 2/4/26, at approximately 5:39 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that made a U-turn where prohibited on Gregory Street and Highway 119. Upon contact, the driver was unable to provide proof of insurance. The driver was issued a Gilpin County Summons.
On 2/5/26, at approximately 9:46 p.m., an officer was conducting an area check of the Gregory Plaza restrooms after they had been closed to the public. The officer encountered an individual inside the restroom. They were determined to have a warrant for their arrest. The individual was transported to the Gilpin County Jail without incident and issued a Gilpin County summons for trespass.
On 2/5/26, at approximately 1:35 a.m., officers were notified of a physical disturbance on the second level of the Monarch parking garage. A suspect was located and arrested.
On 2/5/26, at approximately 1:59 a.m., officers responded to the Lodge Casino regarding a possible assault that occurred on the gaming floor. The victim was contacted and stated they didn't need medical attention and didn't want to press charges. Based on Lodge surveillance footage, there was no probable cause to support a disorderly contact charge. A report was taken.
On 2/5/26, officers were performing a routine area check at Ameristar Casino parking garage when officers observed a vehicle with a suspicious temporary license plate. Officers ultimately determined the license plate had been forged and removed the plate from the vehicle. Officers cleared the scene with a report.
On 2/5/26, officers responded to the Lodge Casino for a reported theft. Upon arrival and completion of the investigation, the suspect was identified, and a report was taken.
On 2/5/26, officers responded to the 100 block of Chase Street for damage to a rock wall. The scene was investigated and a report taken.
On 2/5/26, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle continue straight through a turn-only lane at Richman Street and Main Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/6/26, at approximately 6:39 a.m., officers performed a welfare check on a suspicious vehicle parked in Hidden Treasure after hours. The driver came back clear. No further action was taken. The driver was resting. Nothing criminal was noted.
On 2/6/26, at approximately 7:21 a.m., officers observed a vehicle driving on Highway 119 with expired license plates. When officers stopped the vehicle, the driver was unable to provide proof of insurance. Officers served the driver a summons and cleared the scene at approximately 7:43 a.m..
On 2/6/26, at approximately 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a lost property report in the Black Hawk Police Department lobby. A broken apple ipad was located on the roadway of Clear Creek Street and Marchant Street. Officers attempted to locate the owner.
On 2/6/26, at approximately 7:57 a.m., officers conducted a welfare check for two parties who were sitting in their vehicle on level 1 of the Horseshoe Casino parking garage. Officers determined both parties were in good welfare and the driver planned on driving home soon so no further actions were taken. Officers cleared the scene with a report for documentation.
On 2/6/26, at approximately 9:28 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound from the 500 Block of Main Street. A driver was contacted and given a verbal warning.
On 2/6/26, at approximately 10:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Hotel on the report of a physical disturbance in a hotel room. After an investigation, a party was arrested.
On 2/6/26, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Black Hawk officers were on a separate incident at the Monarch Casino when casino security advised of a found substance. The substance was collected.
On 2/7/26 at approximately 9:31 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a theft. A suspect was cited.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 11:41 p.m., officers responded to the 240 block of Main Street regarding a known party with outstanding warrants. While that party was not at the location, officers spotted a different known party who had a warrant and was subsequently transported to jail.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 2:07 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino, for a subject who was trespassed. The subject left before officers made contact and as she is on the Involuntary Exclusion List through the Department of Revenue-Gaming Division, this case has been referred to them.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 6:08 a.m., officers responded to Saratoga Casino parking garage on report of a welfare check. Officers made contact with one male party who appeared to be sleeping in his car on level three of the parking garage. The male party had slept there through the night. The male party was asked to leave and he complied. Officers cleared the scene at approximately 6:21 a.m. with no further action taken.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 7:44 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Nissan Rogue which had a posted license plate that cleared to a 2004 Hyundai Sonata. Officers determined that the driver had been driving with a license plate posted which is registered to the wrong vehicle and cleared the scene with summons.
On 2/7/26, officers responded to Ameristar Casino on a report of a missing person. Officers spoke with the reporting party, gathered information and cleared the scene with a report for an attempt to locate the party who has not been contacted since approximately 3 a.m. on 2/7/26.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 12:24 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on a Pontiac due to illegal window tint and license plate not being visible. A warning was given. No further action.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 12:26 p.m., officers took a phone call from a reporting party who was concerned about a missing person. Officers checked the city, Central City, Highway 119, and the KOA campground and were unable to locate. This case will remain active pending further investigation.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to a disturbance at Monarch Casino. Officers made contact with the involved parties and determined they were family members who were arguing about a possible assault that occurred the night before. This investigation is still active.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 5:31 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a found gun that was left in a hotel room. The gun was seized and held for safekeeping.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 7:21 p.m., officers responded to a restaurant inside the Ameristar Casino on the report of a stabbing. A party was arrested.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 10:03 p.m., an officer responded to the Gilpin Casino regarding a theft of $700. A report was taken.
On 2/7/26, at approximately 10:56 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino, for a warrant pickup. Once the suspect was in custody and taken to Gilpin County Jail. The suspect was issued a summons for theft for a previous case.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 4:58 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a disturbance. After an investigation, a party was arrested, and a report was completed.
On 2/8/26, officers from the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Ameristar Casino regarding a report of a powdery substance that was found on the coffee table. The powder was collected and tested at the Black Hawk Police Department. The results were unfounded for any controlled substances. The powder was booked into evidence for destruction.
On 2/8/26, officers from the Black Hawk Police Department responded to the Lady Luck Casino on a report of a male party attempting to steal Red Bulls from behind the bar. The casino did not want him charged, but they issued him a formal trespass notice.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 12:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on report of a vehicle accident that occurred in the parking garage. The two parties were contacted, with the minor damage that occurred, they both agreed to swap insurance information and go about their days.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 1:34 p.m., officers were traveling up Dory Hill Road enroute to Gilpin County Jail on relay in an ALPR car when a vehicle traveling at a low rate of speed pulled over to the shoulder in front of them. When officers went around the car the ALPR system hit on the license plate for a wanted person. A female party was contacted and cleared through dispatch and was confirmed as the wanted party. The female party was placed into custody on her warrants. The female party called a male party to come and pick up her dog and car. When the male party arrived, he was cleared through dispatch and also came back with warrants. He was placed into custody. Both parties were transported to Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 2:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to 401 Main Street in regard to a male subject that had climbed into the ceiling above the hotel check in desk on the valet level. The subject had barricaded himself inside the H-VAC room, The Division of Gaming and Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office was contacted to help provide support. After four hours of negotiations the subject agreed to come down from the ceiling. The subject was then placed in custody and transported to a hospital for evaluation. After being cleared by medical staff the subject was transported to Gilpin County Jail and booked on felony charges.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 7:36 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino, on a call of a trespass. The male party was asked to leave the casino and check out of his room. The male complied without incident and left with his family.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the 300 block of Main Street on a report of a domestic problem involving a male party, female party and a child. The case is under investigation. A report was taken.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 11:18 p.m., An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound on Gregory Street, from the Red Dolly Casino. The driver was contacted and issued a verbal warning.
On 2/8/26, at approximately 11:27 p.m., officers responded to the Lodge Casino for an assault that occurred in the Dakota Lot. Upon further investigation, a suspect was identified and later taken into custody. A report was completed.
On 2/9/26, at approximately 2:17 a.m., Black Hawk officers called an RP reference for a report of a lost cell phone at the Horseshoe Casino. Investigation is ongoing and a report was taken.
On 2/9/26, at approximately 9:23 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle driving northbound on Highway 119 near mike marker 6 with no visible license plate. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/9/26, at approximately 9:42 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving northbound on Highway 119, turning right onto Richman Street, and failing to use a turn signal. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/10/26, officers were issued a cold theft report of a lost or stolen phone at the Lodge Casino. No suspect was identified, and a surveillance review is ongoing.
On 2/10/26, an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department conducted a welfare check on a female who was sleeping inside her running vehicle. The female was coherent and did not need any assistance.
On 2/10/26, at approximately 3:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino for a male subject that had damaged property at a casino. The male party had left the property and walked over to the Monarch Casino and began damaging property at that casino. Officers observed a male subject that had matched the description walk on the corner of Miners Road and Main Street. He was contacted and placed into custody. The male subject was then transported to Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/10/26, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 119 stopped at a green traffic light on Miners Mesa Road and Highway 119. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/10/26, at approximately 10:17 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 119 with an expired temporary permit. Upon contact, the driver was unable to provide valid insurance and was issued a Gilpin County Summons.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the Saratoga Casino on a report of a trespass. The suspect was located and issued a summons. A report was taken.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle driving southbound on Highway 119 near mile marker 6 with expired plates and unable to maintain lanes. Upon contact, officers suspected the driver was under the influence, and they were taken into custody.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 9:04 a.m., officers responded to Monarch Casino on report of an active disturbance and possible domestic violence in the parking garage. Officers arrived and spoke with a female and male party who were together at the time. The female party was arrested for an FOJ warrant out of Denver and the male party was ultimately arrested for domestic violence assault.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 3:12 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to 240 Main Street on a report of a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke to both involved parties and facilitated a property exchange. Both parties went their separate ways, and the officers cleared.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle carelessly driving near the 500 block of Main Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 8:34 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 119 from mile marker 6 with expired plates. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a Municipal Summons.
On 2/11/26, at approximately 11:33 p.m., officers spotted a known individual with warrants in the 240 block of Main Street. The individual was contacted and arrested.
On 2/12/26, at approximately 11:19 a.m., officers responded to Horseshoe Casino parking garage on report of a theft from a vehicle. Officers spoke with the reporting party and obtained the necessary information. Officers spoke with surveillance to attempt to locate any individual who stole from the vehicle. This case is active pending further investigation.
On 2/12/26, at approximately 11:32 a.m., officers were on a routine area check at Horseshoe Casino parking garage when officers observed a vehicle parked on level 4 with a fictitious temporary license plate. Officers removed the plate and contacted the driver of the vehicle who was an employee at Horseshoe Casino. Officers served the vehicle owner a summons and cleared the scene with a report.
On 2/12/26, at approximately 12:20 p.m., officers responded to the Z Casino, in reference to found drug paraphernalia. The property was recovered and entered into evidence to be destroyed.
On 2/12/26, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an assault that took place inside the hotel hallway. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the involved parties. Officers conducted an investigation and determined that no crime was committed. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/12/26, at approximately 4:28 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino to assist the Division of Gaming on a potential Fraud Case. Officers took a report and the case will be reviewed by investigations.
On 2/12/26, at approximately 7:33 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle pull out of the Dakota Lot and begin traveling eastbound on Main Street near the 200 block. Officers followed the vehicle at approximately 30 mph, and when it turned right onto Highway 119, it did not use a turn signal and merged from the number three lane to the number one lane. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/12/26, at approximately 2:27 a.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a welfare check in the Dakota Lot. The parties were safe, and officers cleared the scene without incident.
On 2/13/26, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a female who had just consumed an illegal narcotic. Through the investigation, the male suspect who provided her with the illegal narcotics was found and arrested. Both the female and male suspects were arrested and later detained at the Gilpin County Sheriff's Department.
On 2/13/26, at approximately 6:03 a.m., officers responded to Monarch Casino at the hotel on a report of lost property. Officers arrived and spoke with a male who wanted to get his belongings from his hotel room where his girlfriend had locked him out. Officers went to the hotel room and ultimately obtained the male party's belongings and returned it to him. Officers cleared the scene at approximately 6:43 a.m. with a report.
On 2/13/26, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a subject having a mental health episode at the Lodge Casino Hotel. The female subject requested paramedics for having a heart attack. They arrived and the female subject went into her hotel room and would not meet with them. Officers checked on her welfare and deemed her not a danger to herself and/or others and coherent. She requested for the officers to leave her alone. Officers cleared with a report.
On 2/13/26, at approximately 10 a.m., the Black Hawk Police Department received a call of an unwanted party at the Ameristar Casino Hotel. The subjects were contacted, no crime committed.
On 2/13/26, Black Hawk officers received a call from a male party reporting lost property at the Horseshoe Casino. The reporting party did not know what date he had been at the Horseshoe, so officers will follow up on the information they do have.
On 2/13/26, at approximately 7 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle at the intersection of Richman Street and Highway 119 failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/13/26, at approximately 9:18 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar parking garage for a welfare check of an individual experiencing a medical emergency. The individual was later transported to an area hospital.
On 2/13/26, at approximately 10 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to mile marker 6 to assist the Colorado State Patrol on a traffic stop. Upon investigation, officers assisted the trooper who completed roadsides with a male, and assisted a female involved in coordinating a private tow.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 7:04 a.m., officers responded to the Saratoga Casino parking garage for a welfare check. Officers made contact with a male and female party who had been sleeping through the night in their vehicle on level four of the garage. Officers asked the parties to head out and the parties complied. Officers cleared the scene with a report.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Black Hawk Police officers were conducting an area check of the Lady Luck Casino garage when a known individual was observed that had a felony warrant. The suspect fled into the casino and was apprehended in the Horseshoe Casino by officers soon after. The suspect was transported to Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/14/26, officers responded to Ameristar Casino on report of a hit and run accident that took place on level five of the parking garage. Officers spoke with the victim. Officers then spoke with surveillance and surveillance identified the driver of the suspect vehicle using a players card. This case will remain active pending further action.
On 2/14/26, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to a cold hit-and-run that occurred at the Monarch Casino parking garage to be handled by phone. Black Hawk officers spoke with the reporting party and collected documentation regarding this incident.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 4:33 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino regarding a male with a warrant. The male was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 8:05 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle weaving near Richman Street and Highway 119. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 8:31 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a dime bag of an unknown white powdery substance that was found on the casino floor. The unknown white powder substance was later collected and tested to be positive for a controlled substance. However, a surveillance review found no suspect. A report was taken.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 8:56 p.m., Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop at the Monarch Casino for an expired plate that read 6/24. Later, the plate came back, expired 6/25. The driver was issued a summons for not showing immediate proof of insurance and an expired plate.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 9:24 p.m., officers received a call regarding a bomb threat and a potential active-harmer scenario at the Ameristar Casino. After investigation, the report was determined to be a swatting incident.
On 2/14/26, at approximately 11:53 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to an assault at the Ameristar Casino. Once officers arrived, officers spoke to a male and a female party. After the investigation, the female was placed into custody for domestic violence and harassment.
On 2/15/26, at approximately 1:45 a.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino for a welfare check. Officers were unable to locate the individual with the information provided by the reporting party. It was also determined that the individual was not in any immediate danger. A report was completed.
On 2/15/26, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of found drugs in a hotel room. A female party registered to the room was interviewed, but the investigation is still active.
On 2/15/26, at approximately 4:05 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to the KOA Campground to assist Gilpin County Sheriff's Office on a report of a male who was unconscious and not breathing. CPR was in progress and when deputies arrived on scene, they continued CPR until medical personnel arrived. The party was later pronounced by a medical doctor and the coroner was called to respond.
On 2/15/26, officers received a call about a hit and run that had occurred on 2/14/26 at the Ameristar Casino, between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.. After a surveillance review a suspect was identified and issued a summons.
On 2/15/26, at approximately 7:57 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on Highway 119 and Miners Road on a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Main Street and not using his turn signals. The driver of the vehicle stated he thought the speed limit was 25 mph. He was released with a verbal warning.
On 2/15/26, Black Hawk officers were doing a routine patrol southbound on Highway 119. While on patrol, Black Hawk officers observed a motor vehicle accident that already occurred. Summons were issued and a report was taken.
On 2/16/26, Black Hawk officers took a phone report of a lost wallet at Lady Luck Casino. The owner called back after making the report and said he found his wallet.
On 2/16/26, at approximately 1:03 p.m., an officer responded to 2500 Highway 119 on a request for a cover car from Gilpin County Sheriff's Office. The driver was ultimately issued a summons, and a report was completed.
On 2/16/26, at approximately 5:14 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no license plate displayed occurring at 6000 Highway 119. The driver was issued a verbal warning and a field interview report was completed.
On 2/16/26, at approximately 6:20 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to display headlamps occurring at 6000 Highway 119. The driver was issued a verbal warning and a field interview report was completed.

The temp tag was ultimately determined to be fictitious and seized. The driver was issued a verbal warning and a report was completed.
On 2/16/26, at approximately 8:38 p.m., officers received a traffic complaint that had just occurred in the 300 block of Main Street. Officers responded and made contact with the two parties involved. A summons was issued to one of the parties.

On 2/18/26, at approximately 10:13 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle run the stop light at Gregory Street and Main Street, and also had expired plates. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/18/26, at approximately 10:39 p.m., Black Hawk officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound in the 200 block of Main Street, with an expired temporary permit. Upon contact, the driver had updated registration. The driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 12:51 a.m., officers were performing a routine area check in Horseshoe Casino parking garage when they observed a vehicle parked on level one of the garage with the engine running. Officers checked the welfare of a male party they had a warrant out for their arrest out of Jefferson County. Officers booked him into Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 4:06 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, eastbound on Gregory Street from the Red Dolly Casino. A driver was contacted and issued a Municipal Penalty Assessment.
On 2/19/26, officers responded to Ameristar Casino on report of a cold assault. Officers determined the assault was unfounded and cleared the scene.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 6:13 a.m., officers were dispatched to Monarch Casino on a trespass call. The subject was located inside level two of Monarch garage where he eluded police. Subject ultimately stopped and was contacted where he was arrested for trespassing, eluding, and driving under suspension.
On 219/26, Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a found handgun inside an unoccupied hotel room. Officers arrived on scene and collected the handgun. No owner information at this time. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/19/26, Black Hawk officers conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation (traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph). Officers issued a warning for driving behavior and cleared the scene.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 7:55 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 119 from mile marker six with no license plate attached. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a Gilpin County Penalty assessment.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 9:22 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound at the intersection of Highway 119 and Richman Street without their headlamps illuminated. The vehicle also had an expired Colorado temporary tag from December 2025. A driver without a valid driver's licence was contacted and issued a Gilpin County Penalty Assessment.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 9:29 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to a cold physical disturbance between two males at the Monarch Casino. Upon investigation, the disturbance was over a poker game. One male was present, and the other male left. The casino asked the male who was present to leave for 24 hours.
On 2/19/26, at approximately 9:58 p.m., An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, traveling westbound from the intersection of Main Street and Miners Mesa. The driver was contacted and issued a verbal warning.
On 2/20/26, at 12:33 a.m., A Black Hawk officer responded to an injury motor vehicle accident on southbound Highway 119 and mile marker 4 at the request of Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office. A report was taken, and the Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
On 2/20/26, at approximately 4:57 p.m., Black Hawk officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 119 from mile marker 5.8 with expired license plates. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was issued a verbal warning.
On 2/20/26, at approximately 8:09 p.m., officers responded to Highway 119 mile marker 6.5 on report of a roll over traffic accident. Officers confirmed that no one was injured in the single car accident and cleared the scene with a report.

On 2/20/26, at approximately 11:55 p.m., officers responded to Horseshoe Casino's parking garage on report of an active domestic violence assault taking place on level one. Officers ultimately determined probable cause and placed a male party into custody.
On 2/21/26, at approximately 8:55 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing that it had both a defective headlight and a defective taillight passing the Red Dolly Casino. A driver was contacted, who confirmed that they had a vehicle appointment to have both issues fixed. The driver was given a verbal warning.
On 2/21/26, at approximately 9:07 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling eastbound from the 300 block of Main Street without their headlamps illuminated. A driver was contacted and was determined not to be intoxicated. The driver was given a verbal warning.

On 2/21/26, at approximately 10:21 p.m., an officer took a report of a stolen cell phone taken from the female restroom at the Lady Luck Casino. As of now, no suspect has been identified.
On 2/21/26, at approximately 10:36 p.m., officers responded to Saratoga Casino for a welfare check. Officers spoke with a male party who was lost and the male party was ultimately reunited with his friends. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/21/26, at approximately 11:01 p.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a theft. A report was taken, and a suspect has not been positively identified.
On 2/22/26, at approximately 2:02 a.m., officers observed a vehicle driving southbound on Highway 119 mile maker 6 with the driver side head light out. Officers pulled the vehicle over and contacted the driver of the vehicle. Officers ultimately cleared the scene with a verbal warning.
On 2/22/26, at approximately 2:59 a.m., officers responded to Horseshoe Casino for a welfare check with a male party who had been drinking heavily and was asked to leave. Officers ultimately found the individual's friends and he was cared for. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/22/26, at approximately 4:11 a.m., a Black Hawk officer, along with the help of a sheriff deputy with the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a REDDI report. The suspected intoxicated driver was contacted and was deemed not to be impaired. A report was completed.
On 2/22/26, at approximately 3:36 a.m., officers received a REDDI Report for a vehicle driving in the Monarch parking garage. The vehicle was located in the Horseshoe Garage. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI
On 2/22/26, at approximately 11:54 a.m., officers responded to a theft at Ameristar Casino. The reporting party was no longer on property and was contacted by phone.
On 2/22/26 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Black Hawk officers responded to a theft at Monarch Casino. Officers are currently trying to identify the suspect.
On 2/22/26, Black Hawk officers observed vehicle weaving, not using a turn signal and making an illegal U-turn at Highway 119 and Richman Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the Ameristar Casino valet parking area. A verbal warning was issued.
On 2/22/26, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of a fraud at the Wild Card Casino. Investigation was conducted by the officers and concluded there was a violation of a protection order. An arrest was made and a report was taken.
On 2/23/26, Black Hawk officers responded to the Lodge Casino on a report of an unwanted party. The unwanted party was trespassed back in 2014. Lodge Casino did not have documentation showing the party was trespassed. The unwanted party was issued a new trespass notice from the casino and left property without incident.
On 2/23/26, at approximately 3:06 a.m., Black Hawk officer conducted a welfare check on an individual who appeared to be sleeping in a running vehicle on level 5 of Bally's parking garage. After further investigation, the party was okay, and officers cleared without incident.
On 2/23/26, at approximately 7:52 a.m., officers were dispatched to a damaged property at the Copper Kitchen.
On 2/23/26, at approximately 8:13 a.m., officers were dispatched to a lock out at Lady Luck garage on level 2. The reporting party also reported lost property.
On 2/23/26, at approximately 12:07 p.m., a Black Hawk officer was dispatched to a damaged property at the Monarch Casino parking garage on level 8. The suspect was seen on surveillance backing into a car and leaving the scene of the accident. Investigation is ongoing.
On 2/23/26, at approximately 12:47 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no number plate displayed occurring at Richman Street and Main Street. The driver was issued a verbal warning and a field interview report was completed.

On 2/23/26, at approximately 8:28 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino, in regard to an intoxicated male party that was belligerent and causing a scene on the 14th floor of the hotel. Officers made contact with the male party in the hotel lobby and escorted him to his room. The party was advised that he needed to stay in his hotel room for the rest of the night.
On 2/24/26, Black Hawk officers responded to a report of a possible domestic disturbance at the Lodge Casino. An investigation was conducted and determined there was nothing criminal that occurred. A report was taken.

On 2/24/26, at approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to the Coyote Motel, to assist Colorado State Patrol with a DUI investigation. A party was taken into custody by Colorado State Patrol and a blood draw was conducted at the police department. The party was transported by Colorado State Patrol to detox. A report was completed.
On 2/24/26, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a shoplifting that occurred on 2/23/26. Suspects were not on scene but have been identified and a report was taken.
On 2/25/26, at approximately 5:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to Ameristar Casino for a warrant pickup. The suspect was arrested and transported to Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/25/26, at approximately 6:48 p.m., officers were performing an area check at Monarch Casino's parking garage when they observed a vehicle parked on level six with a fictitious temporary number plate. Officers collected the plate to be booked into evidence and cleared the scene with a report.
On 2/25/26, at approximately 9:59 p.m., officers observed a vehicle driving northbound on Highway 119 with the passenger side head light out. Officers pulled the vehicle over, contacted the driver, and ultimately cleared the scene with a verbal warning.

On 2/26/26, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar on a report of a lost phone. An investigation was conducted and the whereabouts of the phone are unknown. A report was taken.
On 2/26/26 at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers responded to the Lodge Casino valet for an intoxicated individual refusing to leave the property. The individual was given a courtesy transport to a different casino, where they were released to a sober party.
On 2/26/26, at approximately 4:18 p.m., officers observed a vehicle fail to yield the right of way while exiting a parking lot onto northbound Gregory Street. Then officers observed the vehicle fail to come to a complete stop when turning right at a red traffic light on the intersection of Gregory Street and Main Street. Officers pulled the vehicle over, contacted the driver, and ultimately cleared the scene with a verbal warning.
On 2/26/26, at approximately 7:50 p.m., officers responded to Monarch Casino where security was trying to confirm the age of a guest before they could be allowed on the gaming floor. Officers tried to clear the guest using a Pakistan passport on his phone and the individual did not come back on file. The guest planned to go back home to get a valid ID so his age could be verified. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/26/26, at approximately 9:26 p.m., officers assisted Colorado State Patrol with a traffic stop at 6300 Highway 119 southbound with a suspected intoxicated driver. This case is referred to the Colorado State Patrol.
On 2/26/26, at approximately 10:57 p.m., officers responded to Monarch Casino for a welfare check for an individual who had fallen asleep on the gaming floor and was being uncooperative with security. Officers contacted the male party and ensured he was in good welfare and left him in the care of his father and brother. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/27/26, at approximately 2:37 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Saratoga Casino garage for a male party urinating in the garage. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the male party. After the investigation, the male party was issued a summons.
On 2/27/26, at approximately 3:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Monarch Hotel on the report of a physical disturbance in a hotel room. After an investigation, a party was arrested.
On 2/27/26, officers contacted a reported missing person at the Monarch Casino as an assist to Weld County Sheriff's Department. The missing person was found to be safe and did not need any assistance.
On 2/27/26, at approximately 5:54 a.m., officers observed a vehicle driving northbound on Highway 119 with a blue registration sticker that read the expiration year of 2024. Officers contacted the driver and ultimately issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with expired plates. Officers cleared the scene.
On 2/27/26 at approximately 10:04 p.m., officers observed a vehicle driving eastbound on Main Street with the driver side head light out. Officers pulled the vehicle over and contacted the driver. The driver failed to provide proof of insurance. Officers issued the driver a summons and cleared the scene.
On 2/28/26 at approximately 8:18 a.m., officers completed a traffic stop on a white van that had a defective maker/brake light on the passenger side at mile marker 5.5 and Highway 119. The driver was given a verbal warning.
On 2/28/26, at approximately 8:35 a.m., officers responded to the Z Casino, in reference to damaged property. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a patron had shattered the glass of a slot machine by striking it with her hand. The patron was identified and agreed to pay for the damages.
On 2/28/26, at approximately 4:40 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle observed with expired plates traveling northbound on Highway 119. Upon stop the driver had five warrants, which they were arrested for.
On 2/28/26, at approximately 8:41 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired Colorado temporary tag. A driver and passenger were contacted, and upon further investigation, the passenger had a warrant for their arrest. The passenger was transported to the Gilpin County Jail, and the driver was given a verbal warning.
On 2/28/26, at approximately 9:02 p.m., officers responded to a report of an active shooter in the Monarch parking garage. No signs of a shooter were located, and a report was taken.
On 2/28/26, at approximately 11:35 p.m., A male party wanted to make a REDDI report at the Black Hawk Police Department. The reporting party stated he saw a Black GMC work truck all over the road, driving westbound on Main Street. Black Hawk Officers advised Gilpin County and Colorado State Patrol.
