Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. The Nederland High School Panthers were pounced on by the Twin Peaks Charter Academy Timberwolves Monday night in an away game, 18-69. The Timberwolves came into the game with a 4-1 record.
When the first period ended with Ned down by 20 points, it was apparent the Panthers were going to have to give it their all to stay in the game. Twin Peaks’ David Jarvis found the basket throughout the first period and ended it with a three-pointer.
The Timberwolves continue to score and Nederland chalked up a three-pointer to get on the scoreboard. Timberwolf Jarvis was unstoppable as he hit the basket time after time. A foul on Panther Taylor Hoffman led to a one point gain and the score is 4-31. Damon Vigil grabbed a three-pointer for Ned and then, with momentum on his side, he scored again adding to the Panther score, 9-33.
At halftime, the score was 9-39.
At the beginning of the third quarter, Twin Peaks’ Jarvis begins the offense with a three-pointer and the Timberwolves continue to prowl to the basket, claiming 59 points by the end of the third quarter to Ned’s 14 points. The Panthers gained four points to Twin Peaks’ 10 in the fourth quarter.
