Panthers beat Pikes Peak Christian

Barbara Lawlor, Nederland.  The Nederland High School girls’ basketball team started the season in the Deer Trail Classic Tournament on Friday, December 1 with a loss to Bethune.

 

They won their next game on the following day when they stormed over the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles, 43-18. Senior Karen Sorokach missed claiming a triple double double by one steal.

 

The girls lost to Bethune in the second consolation round.

 

On Monday, December 11, the Panthers succumbed to the Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont, 16-23.

 

It was a low-score, defensive game, with the Timberwolves leading by at least three points during the first three quarters. They were able to outscore Twin Peaks in the fourth quarter but not enough to approach a tie.
