November Gilpin County Sheriff

On 11/1/17 at approximately 4:10 p.m., a deputy responded to a report of a dog bite. The dog owner was issued a summons to appear in court on the charge of Unlawful Ownership of a Dangerous Dog.

 

On 11/1/17 at approximately 5:43 p.m., a deputy contacted an illegally parked car in Central City and arrested the driver for a traffic offense. The driver was later released on a summons and the vehicle was towed.

 

On 11/2/17 deputies contacted two parties on a welfare check in the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Gilpin County, Central City, CO 80427. One party had drug paraphernalia. This party was issued a summons and a report was later completed.

 

On 11/2/17 a Gilpin resident reported that he had been the victim of fraud. There were no identifiable suspects, and a report was filed.

 

On 11/2/17 at 6:20 p.m., a deputy responded to the 5300 block of Highway 72, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80422, on a dog issue. Investigation disclosed that two dogs went on to a neighbor`s property. The dog owner was cited at the caller`s request.

 

On 11/3/17 at 6:51 p.m., a party responded to the Sheriff`s Office, located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80422, to report that her advertisements had been taken from her mailbox. A report was completed.

 

On 11/4/17 at approximately 5:37 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on the report of a cold burglary. A report was generated to document the incident.

 

On 11/4/17 at 6:44 p.m., a deputy responded to the 100 block of Summer Haven Dr., unincorporated Gilpin County CO, 80422, on a theft call. A report was taken.

 

On 11/5/17 deputies responded to a disturbance and the Z Stop Gas Station. One party was arrested for violation of a protection order.

 

On 11/5/17 at approximately 12:14 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Famous Bonanza Casino, located at 107 Main Street, Central City, Gilpin County Colorado on a report of a missing person. A case report was completed.

 

On 11/5/17 a deputy contacted a party in a vehicle on a welfare check. The party was arrested for DUI and booked into jail.

 

On 11/5/17 deputies responded to the Z Stop Gas Station for the report of a disturbance. The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated, and the passenger was in violation of a protection order. Both were taken into custody.

 

On 11/05/17 at 5:32 p.m., a deputy responded to the 100 Block of Russell Gulch Rd, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80422, on a theft call. A report was taken.

 

On 11/5/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on South Beaver Creek Road and the driver was later arrested for driving on a revoked license.

 

On 11/6/17 at approximately 8:45 a.m., a Gilpin Deputy received a found bullet. The item was placed into evidence for destruction. Case closed
On 11/6/17 at 11:40 a.m., an inmate currently in the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to have two active warrants.

 

On 11/7/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City and the driver was issued a summons for driving on a revoked license.

 

On 11/7/17 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office Deputy received an incident report regarding a reported sexual assault incident that occurred on 10/7/17 in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado 80474.

 

On 11/7/17 a female party came to the Sheriff`s Office for visitation. Her license was discovered to be cancel/deny. The license was returned to the Department of Revenue, and she was issued a Proof of Service.

 

On 11/8/17 at approximately 1:11 a.m., a deputy responded to the report of an intoxicated party who was transported to the hospital.

 

On 11/8/17 while a deputy was performing his duties at the Gilpin county Detention Facility, located at 2960 Dory Hill RD Black Hawk CO, 80422, a party arrived for court with a warrant out for his arrest.

 

On 11/10/17 deputies conducted a welfare check in a parking garage. During the welfare check drugs were located and a party was arrested. A report was later completed.

 

On 11/10/17 at approximately 2:30 p.m., while a deputy was performing his duties at the Gilpin County Detention Facility, he received a phone call from an Arvada Police Department investigator stating that an inmate currently housed in our facility had an active warrant that was just issued by Arvada Police Department.

 

On 11/10/17 at 5:28 p.m., a party came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office, located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, unincorporated Gilpin County CO, 80422, to report an identity theft. A report was taken.

 

On 11/11/17 at approximately 9:39 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to assist the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) at mile marker .5 Highway 119, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado, regarding an uncooperative driver of a vehicle. The deputy assisted CSP to arrest the driver of the vehicle and a case report was later completed.

 

On 11/11/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 and the driver was issued a summons for violating his restricted license status.

 

On 11/13/17 at approximately 5:06 p.m., a Deputy was dispatched to the Century Casino located at 102 Main Street, Central City, Gilpin County Colorado 80427, on a report of a Domestic Disturbance.

 

On 11/13/17 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street and the driver was issued a summons. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for a warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

On 11/14/17 at approximately 9:40 a.m., a person arrived at the Gilpin County Jail who had two active, valid warrants for his arrest. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

 

On 11/14/17 at approximately 10:59 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a trespassing call. The suspects were located in a stolen vehicle and it was later determined they also burglarized another residence. The suspects were arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

 

On 11/14/17 at approximately 1:35 a.m., a person was contacted at the Gilpin County Courts who had an active, valid warrant for his arrest. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

 

On 11/14/17 at approximately 6:41 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident at Mile Post 4.5 on the Central City Parkway. No injuries were reported. A case report was completed.

 

On 11/14/17 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy and a passenger in the vehicle was later arrested on a warrant.

 

On 11/14/17 a deputy responded to an address in Gilpin County to locate a fugitive of justice. The individual was located and arrested for the outstanding warrant.

 

On 11/15/17 at approximately 9:39 a.m., a deputy responded to the Central City Parkway for a non-injury, single vehicle accident.

 

On 11/15/17 a deputy arrested a male party with three outstanding warrants.

 

On 11/15/17 at approximately 5:51 p.m., a deputy responded to the Sheriff`s Office on the report of a neighbor dispute. A case report was taken to document the incident.

 

On 11/15/17 a deputy noticed a fence owned by a corporation had been damaged. The company was contacted and a report was completed.

 

On 11/15/17 an adult female was arrested for prostitution and brought to the Gilpin County Jail for processing. After admitting her true identity, it was discovered she was a juvenile and she was given back to the custody of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation without processing.

 

On 11/14/17 at approximately 9:20 a.m., a person was contacted at the parking lot of the Gilpin County Courthouse, who had an active, valid warrant for his arrest. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

 

On 11/14/17 a deputy damaged a patrol vehicle while en route to a call for Service.

 

On 11/18/17 at approximately 4:47 p.m., deputies responded to the Central City Parkway on the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The driver of the vehicle was issued a summons and later released from custody.

 

On 11/18/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119 and the driver was issued a summons.

 

On 11/19/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway and the driver was arrested for DUI.

 

On 11/19/17 a deputy contacted a vehicle at the Z-Stop. The driver was later arrested for DUI.

 

On 11/20/17 a vehicle eluded a deputy. The party was later located and taken into custody for several criminal offenses, including warrants.

 

On 11/21/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street and the driver was arrested for several offenses.

 

On 11/21/17 at approximately 3:55 p.m., a party reported their license plate as lost. A report was completed and the license plate was entered as lost.

 

On 11/22/17 at 12:17 a.m., Gilpin County Deputies were dispatched to an address in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado 80422, on a report of disturbance. After further investigation, a female party was arrested on Domestic Violence related charges. A case report was completed.

 

On 11/22/17 at approximately 2:40 p.m., a person arrived at the Gilpin County Jail who had an active, valid warrant for her arrest. The person was arrested and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.

 

On 11/23/17 at approximately 7:35 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to investigate a possible drunk driver. The deputy was able to locate the vehicle parked in a parking lot. The deputy contacted the driver of the vehicle and noticed the keys to the vehicle were in the ignition. The deputy later arrested the driver of the vehicle for DUI and the driver was booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

 

On 11/24/17 at approximately 1:54 a.m., a deputy responded to an address located in Central City for an unresponsive male party. The male party was later found to have died and a report was generated for the death investigation.

 

On 11/24/17 a deputy responded to a theft in Central City, Colorado. A 5×8 Homemade trailer was taken from the victim`s property.

 

On 11/24/17 at approximately 9:18 a.m., a deputy investigated a theft that occurred at a mill in Central City, Colorado.

 

On 11/24/17 a deputy received information that a wanted male fugitive was possibly in Gilpin County. The fugitive was located and was taken into custody, along with a female fugitive, without incident.

 

On 11/25/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Central City and the driver was issued a summons.

 

On 11/25/17 at 5:40 p.m., a party came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to report a theft which occurred in the 100 block of Eureka Street, Central City CO 80427. A report was taken.

 

On 11/25/17 at approximately 8:55 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Johnny Z`s Casino, located at 132 Lawrence Street, Central City, Gilpin County Colorado 80427, on a report of a found counterfeit $20 bill at the cage. A case report was completed.

 

On 11/25/17, a deputy contacted a vehicle inside of the Century Casino Parking Garage and the driver was arrested for felony DUI and a warrant.
On 11/26/17 at 5:41 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Mammoth View Lane, Central City CO 80427, on a disturbance. The subsequent investigation failed to substantiate any criminal charges. A report was completed.

 

On 11/26/17 at approximately 8:19 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for DUI. The suspect was booked into the county jail.
On 11/27/17 a deputy responded to the Coeur D`Alene Mine for a report of a possible burglary. It is believed the broken window could have been caused by high wind gusts.

 

On 11/27/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 and the driver was issued a summons.

 

On 11/28/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City and the driver was issued a summons.

 

On 11/28/17 a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license.

 

On 11/28/17 at approximately 6:18 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway and arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence. The party was booked into the county jail.

 

On 11/28/17 a deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of the Central City Parkway, Gilpin County, Central City, Colorado 80427, on a motor vehicle accident with property damage only.

 

On 11/29/17 a deputy contacted a party in the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Gilpin County, Central City, CO 80427, who had an active warrant. The party was arrested for the warrant and a report was later completed.

 

On 11/29/17 a female party arrived in the Gilpin County Courtroom for court. A deputy located an active warrant and the female party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.

 

On 11/29/17 a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was found to be under restraint, a summons was issued, and the driver was given a ride to a casino.

 

On 11/30/17 at approximately 12:10 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for several offenses and warrants. He was booked into the County Jail.

 

On 11/ 30/17 at approximately 7:30 p.m., an officer was performing his duties at the Gilpin County Jail, located at 2960 Dory Hill Road Black Hawk, Colorado, when an individual arrived for a book and bond.
