Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. The Nederland Panther football team, after two weeks of byes, traveled to Del Norte to play the Mancos Bluejays on Saturday, losing 50-0 against the 6-1 team.
It all happened in the second quarter. The Ned boys held the Bluejays to one touchdown in the first quarter, but Mancos exploded in the second quarter, scoring 36 points and surging ahead with a 44-0 lead going into the half.
Nederland coach Beth Buglione says, “We stuck together as a team and finished the game as a cohesive unit.”
The Panthers have a bye this week and will play an away game in Del Norte on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017.
