October Gilpin County Sheriff Reports

On 10/2/17 at approximately 10:30 a.m. a deputy received found property to be destroyed.

 

 

On 10/3/17 at approximately 8:30 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a casino for a suspicious incident. The party involved was later issued a trespass warning and asked not to return to the casino.

 

On 10/3/17 a deputy was dispatched to 410 Bobtail Hill Circle, Gilpin County, Central City, on a report a bullet that came through a wall. An investigation was conducted and a party was subsequently arrested.

 

On 10/4/17 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a deputy received a report from a hospital about a possible sexual assault that had occurred in Gilpin County. The deputy completed a report and forwarded the case to the investigations division.

 

On 10/4/17 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway and arrested the driver for driving under the influence. The driver was booked into the county jail.

 

On 10/5/17 at around 7:25 a.m., a deputy made a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was suspended. The male driver was placed into custody and transported to Gilpin Jail.

 

On 10/5/17 dispatch aired a REDDI report on northbound Hwy 119, a deputy then contacted the vehicle and the driver was arrested, for further investigation of DUI. A report was completed.

 

On 10/6/17 at approximately 1:06 p.m., a subject was contacted and found to have two active warrants. The subject was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.

 

On 10/6/17, at approximately 1:38 p.m., a subject came to Gilpin Combined Court and was found to have an active warrant.
On 10/6/17 at 8:58 p.m., deputies responded to a parking garage located in the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Central City CO 80427, on a property damage crash. A report was taken and a driver was cited.

 

On 10/7/17 a deputy was on routine patrol in Gilpin County. The deputy pulled over a speeder. As he exited the vehicle, a gust of wind pushed the door forward causing minor damage to his vehicle.

 

On 10/7/17 at approximately 10:33 a.m., deputies responded to a verbal disturbance involving family members.

 

On 10/8/17 at approximately 2:58 p.m., a deputy responded to the Grand Z Casino for a counterfeit bill. The bill was retrieved and put into evidence.

 

On 10/8/17 at 9:05 a.m., a party who was at the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office to visit an inmate was found to have a suspended driver’s license. The party`s Colorado Driver License was confiscated, and he was issued a proof of service.

 

On 10/9/17 a deputy conducted a welfare check at mile marker 6, Highway 119. The occupant of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license.

 

On 10/8/17 a deputy took a report of an unauthorized use of a financial transaction device. The case is active, still under investigation.

 

On 10/8/17 at 5:33 p.m., a deputy responded to a casino located in the 100 block of Lawrence Street, Central City, on the report of a counterfeit ten-dollar bill. The bill was seized and a report was taken.

 

On 10/9/17 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City and arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant.

 

On 10/9/17 at approximately 7:51 a.m., a deputy responded to a one car non-injury accident, in Central City, Colorado.

 

On 10/9/17 at approximately 5:27 p.m., a Deputy was dispatched to the Famous Bonanza Casino, located at 109 Main Street, Central City, on a report of an abandoned black duffle bag. The black bag was searched and taken into custody for safe keeping. A case report was completed.

 

On 10/9/17 at approximately 8:00 p.m., a deputy responded to a medical call at a residence in mid-county involving an injured elderly party. An investigation was begun and Human Services was notified.

 

On 10/10/17 at approximately 7:54 a.m., a motorist was stopped for driving under restraint (suspended). The driver was issued a summons and released.

 

On 10/10/17 a deputy contacted a party in the 300 block of Gregory Street, Gilpin County, who had an active warrant. The party was arrested for the warrant and a report was later completed.

 

On 10/11/17 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license and had an active warrant, which he was arrested for.

 

On 10/11/17 a Deputy located vehicle parked in the woods within unincorporated Gilpin County Colorado. The deputy identified the vehicle as being abandoned for some time and on public property. The vehicle was towed.

 

On 10/11/17 at approximately 11:54 a.m., a deputy was performing his duties at the Gilpin County Jail, located at 2960 Dory Hill Road Black Hawk, Colorado 80422 in unincorporated Gilpin County. At this time, he responded to the Sheriff`s Office lobby and made contact with a male subject turning himself in on a warrant.

 

On 10/12/17, a deputy conducted a welfare check in the 100 block of Main Street, Gilpin County. A party`s license status was cancelled/denied, the driver`s license was seized and the party was issued a proof of service. A report was later completed.

 

On 10/12/17 at approximately 8:35 a.m., the Sheriff`s Office received a call of possible criminal mischief. After investigation, it was determined to be a civil issue. A case report was completed for the reporting party.

 

On 10/12/17 at approximately 1:45 p.m., an individual contacted at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office was found to have an active warrant out of the county. The individual was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.

 

On 10/12/17 at 9:48 p.m., an employee of a casino located in the 100 block of Main Street, Central City, located a backpack. The backpack contained some drug paraphernalia and was possibly associated with a theft which occurred earlier in the day. A report was taken.

 

On 10/13/17 a deputy had an abandoned vehicle towed from the Central City Parkway.

 

On 10/13/17 at approximately 4:40 p.m., an individual, who was transported to Gilpin County Jail from a surrounding agency, was being booked in on a warrant. Upon booking into Gilpin County Jail, staff discovered that original warrant information had been changed from the issuing agency. The new warrant was located and the individual was booked in on that warrant without incident.

 

On 10/13/17 at 7:45 p.m., a party reported an accident involving a deer on the Central City Parkway, marker 1.5, Central City. A report was completed.

 

On 10/14/17 a Deputy contacted a suspicious vehicle in the Grand Z parking garage, who was later determined to be driving under the influence of a drug and was arrested.

 

On 10/14/17 a deputy handled a one vehicle property damage accident on the Central City Parkway.

 

On 10/14/17 at 11:16 p.m., an inmate at the Gilpin County Detention Facility was transported for medical purposes to St. Anthony`s for clearance and subsequently cleared, discharged and returned.

 

On 10/15/17 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City and the driver was released on a summons for driving on a restrained license.

 

On 10/15/17 a deputy responded and took a report of a motor vehicle accident on the Central City Parkway. The case is active, still under investigation.

 

On 10/15/17 a deputy took a report of a theft from the Century Casino. The case is still under investigation.

 

On 10/15/17 a female party came to the Sheriff’s Office for visitation. Her license was discovered to be canceled/denied. The license was returned to the Department of Revenue, and she was issued a Proof of Service.

 

On 10/15/17 at approximately 5:54 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an address in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado 80422 on a report of a theft in progress. Two male suspects were arrested and processed into the Gilpin County Jail. A case report was completed.

 

On 10/16/17 at approximately 5:54 p.m., deputies responded to the report of an in-progress trespass and theft at a residential property in mid-county. The deputies detained the suspects a short distance from the scene and conducted an investigation in coordination with officers from the Black Hawk Police Department. Two parties were placed under arrest and booked into the county jail. The stolen property was seized for later return to the owners.

 

On 10/15/17 at 7:03 p.m., a deputy spoke with a party wanting to report a theft of mining claim markers which occurred in the 300 block of FSR 187.1, Gilpin County CO 80422. A report was taken.

 

On 10/15/17 at 10:10 p.m., a motor vehicle theft was reported from the 100 block of Summer Heaven Road, Gilpin County CO 80422. The vehicle was located at a casino in the 400 block of Main Street, Black Hawk, CO. The suspect was taken into custody and jailed on the charges.

 

On 10/15/17 at approximately 11:20 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop and cited the driver for several offenses.

 

On 10/16/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Parkway and the driver was later determined to be DUI, and was arrested.

 

On 10/16/17 a deputy took a found property report at the substation in Central City.

 

On 10/16/17 at approximately 10:40 a.m., a party came to the front lobby to turn himself in on an active warrant.

 

On 10/16/17 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for having expired registration. The driver was found to be operating an uninsured motor vehicle and had a suspended license. He was issued a summons.
