Head-on crash injures three

Barbara Lawlor, Coal Creek.  Three women were injured in a head-on collision in Coal Creek Canyon on Sunday morning. A van with two men in it lost control coming off a turn at the intersection of Hwy. 72 and Hwy. 119, hit the guard rail and flipped, crashing into oncoming traffic.

The men walked away from the scene and two of the women had to be treated at the scene before they were transported by ambulance to Boulder Community Hospital. Traffic was narrowed to one lane as emergency workers assisted patients and cleared the scene. Nederland Police Department officers, Timberline Fire, Gilpin County Ambulance and Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the site of the crash.
