Hard-played, high-point Eagle win

Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County.  In the second home game of the season, the Gilpin High School Eagles earned their first win in an action-packed game against the Simla Cubs, 60-50. The battle took place on Saturday, September 9 in a picture perfect early fall day.

Manny Gomez scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion; Stephen King made a touchdown and Angel Gomez made a touchdown. Manny Gomez was the overall player of the game and Austin Boulder was the Offensive Player of the Game.
