Mustangs end Eagles’ season

gil-fb-cool-line-pix Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County.  The Gilpin County Eagles football team ended their season with a 46-0 against the league champions, the West Grand Mustangs. Bucking and kicking, the Mustangs stampeded the Eagles throughout the whole game, demonstrating why they have maintained their top position for so long.

With the loss, Gilpin is in third place behind West Grand and Soroco and will not be in the playoffs. They end the season with a 5-4 winning record.

This past season they have succeeded at winning many great games to come out on the winning side. Five seniors will graduate in the spring, but seven juniors will be left to become the team leaders.

The seniors include: Eryk Lorenz, Braedyn Perez, Uriah Hockley, Matthew Immordino, and Dante Nadeau.
Quarter scores:
0-16, 0-6 0-16, 0-8
