Artie Gerry D Long (Arlene Dell Hughes) was born in Ferndale, Michigan on April 26, 1944 to Theodore Francis and Florence Evelyn Hawkins. She passed away June 21, 2016 in Ogden, Utah. She married Don Havens and to this union they were blessed with 2 children. They later divorced. She married Grant Dugan and was blessed with 2 more children. They later divorced. She married Gerry D. Long and they were together many years until he passed away.
She was raised on the beaches of the San Diego area and attended her elementary and high school education in San Diego Schools.
Artie lead a life to be proud of. She was a Silversmith with a small shop in an old gas station in Hygiene Co. She made comfort food for the residents of Daisy Moffats Nursing Home in Lyons, Co. She owned a cafe in Allenspark Co. She ran the kitchen at Camp St Malo for a few years and served a few pizzas and lots of great advice at the Millsite in Ward.
She raised one daughter- Deanne Havens-Michaud (Dustin) and 3 sons Dean Havens, Isaac Dugan (Samantha) and Daniel Dugan (Victoria). Even through all of her personal amazing accomplishments, her children, grandchildren: Mallory Berry, Sunnie Witkowski (Jared), Jessica Berry, Arbor Havens, Mikah Dugan, Malyki Dugan, Evin Dugan and Benjamin Dugan and great grandsons: Craig Brautigam and Lucas Witkwoski gave her the most joy.
She traveled to Mexico and Alaska and saw parts of the country that not many others have seen. She spent her last weeks in beautiful Ogden Utah feeling loved and blessed beyond her wildest dreams.
The family would like to express appreciation to Inter-Mountain Hospice and Ryan Cook; Nurses at McKay Dee Hospital and April Rizzo her Home Health Care Nurse from Boulder County Health Services. Private services will be held by the family. Please honor Artie by doing something nice for someone.
