May Gilpin County police reports

1COGlipinCo2-viOn May 2, 2016 a Deputy assisted the Black Hawk Police Department with an intoxicated subject at the Gilpin County Jail.

 

Also on May 2, 2016 a deputy was contacted by the driver of a vehicle. The driver was found to have an active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.

 

On May 3, 2016 a deputy stopped a motorist for speeding. The driver was found to be driving on a restrained driver`s license. He was issued a citation and given a courtesy ride to nearby residence.

 

Also on May 3, 2016, at approximately 1500 hours, a male party was arrested in the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office on a warrant for failure to comply, which had been issued by the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office. The male party was processed into the Gilpin County Detention Center without incident.

 

On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at approximately 1921 hours, a Gilpin County Deputy responded to a disturbance between two neighbors in the 100 block of Meadowlake Drive.  It was found that one neighbor was cursing loudly and other neighbors could hear him.  The incident was resolved without any charges.
 

On May 4, 2016 at approximately 0745 hours, a deputy took a report of criminal mischief at the Gilpin County Recreation Center.  The case is active and still under investigation.

 

On Wednesday, May 4, 2016, a Deputy took a theft report.  A backpack was stolen from the side of Highway 119 as its owner was exploring the area.  No suspects were identified, but serial numbers of two items were entered into the National Crime Information Center data base as stolen.

 

On Wednesday May 4, 2016, at approximately 2349 hours, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Central City and arrested a passenger on a warrant.

 

On May 5, 2016 at approximately 0710 hours, a deputy responded to a call regarding an abandoned vehicle.  It was later determined that the vehicle had a license plate attached that belonged on another vehicle.  The owner was given a summons to appear in court.

 

On Thursday May 5, 2016 a deputy had an abandoned vehicle towed from mile marker 16.4 on Highway 119.

 

On Thursday May 5, 2016 at approximately 1000 hours, a deputy responded to the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office, 2960 Dory Hill Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, on a report of found property.  Contact with the owner is being attempted and a report has been completed.

 

On Friday May 6, 2016, a deputy assisted the Black Hawk Police Department with a DUI investigation.

 

On May 6, 2016, at approximately 0815 hours, a female party showed up for Gilpin County court who had an active warrant out of Adams County. The court notified the detention facility, and a deputy was sent to the courtroom to contact the female party. The female was taken into custody and booked on the warrant without incident.

 

On May 6, 2016 at approximately 1630 hours, a deputy responded to an address for a deceased party. The deceased was later released to the Gilpin County Deputy Coroner.

 

On May 8, 2016, at approximately 0418 hours, a female arrestee was brought to the Gilpin County Jail, for a breath test relating to a Driving Under the Influence investigation.

 

On May 8, 2016 Deputies responded to a residential address regarding an assault that had previously occurred. Statements were gathered and a report was completed.

 

On May 9, 2016 a deputy responded to a residence after suspicious activity was observed by the homeowner. A report was completed.

 

On May 9, 2016, at approximately 1150 hours, a Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office deputy met with a citizen in the lobby who reported fraud against their business financial account.

 

On May 9, 2016, a female party in custody at the Gilpin County Jail was found to have an active warrant for her arrest out of the Black Hawk Police Department.  She was booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the active warrant.

 

On Monday May 9, 2016 a Deputy responded to the Famous Bonanza Casino on a report of found drugs. The drugs were collected and a report was completed.

 

On Monday, May 9, 2016, at approximately 2017 hours, a deputy located a stolen vehicle in the 7000 Block of Virginia Canyon Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado.  A case report was later completed.

 

On May 9, 2016 an inmate located in the Gilpin County Jail was found to have a new active warrant issued for his arrest.  The inmate was processed on the new case without incident.

 

On May 10, 2016, at approximately 1820 hours, a male party was brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility by the Black Hawk Police Department. An intake pat down search revealed a bag containing what appeared to be contraband on the male party`s person. The male party was not immediately processed into the detention facility.

 

On May 12, 2016, a deputy took a dog bite report.

 

On May 13, 2016, at approximately 0710 hours, deputies responded to an address for a party who had an active arrest warrant.  The party was located at the residence and arrested on the warrant. The party was booked into the Gilpin County Jail.

 

On May 13th, 2016 a Deputy responded to the Columbine Park on a report of criminal mischief. A report has been taken and the case is under investigation.

 

On May 15, 2016, a deputy responded to the Reserve Casino on the report of a theft.  The reporting party was later found to have an active warrant for her arrest.  The party was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.

 

On May 17, 2016 at approximately 1655 hours a male party was arrested at the Gilpin County Detention Facility on a warrant for failure to appear issued by the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office. The male party was processed into the Gilpin County Detentions Center without incident.

 

On May 19, 2016 a driver was contacted for weaving. His driver license was found to be cancelled. A proof of service was issued.

 

On May 20, 2016, at approximately 1627 hours, a Deputy contacted a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The driver was found not to have a valid driver`s license and a penalty assessment was issued.

 

On May 21, 2016 at approximately 1100 hours a deputy was preparing the paperwork to release an inmate.  It was discovered that the inmate had an active warrant out of Boulder County for the Violation of a Protection Order.  The inmate was processed into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant without incident.

 

Also on May 21, 2016 a deputy, while on routine patrol, contacted a parked vehicle. During routine clearance procedures the passenger was found to have a suspended license.  A proof of service was issued and the license was confiscated.

 

On Monday May 23, 2016, a deputy responded to 661 Highway 46 (Base Camp Campground), on the report of a harassment.  Both parties were advised not to have contact with the other.

 

On May 23, 2016, a deputy took a report of criminal mischief to several vehicles. The case is active and still under investigation.

 

On Monday May 23, 2016, a deputy responded to Conestoga Road due to a report of littering / found drug paraphernalia.  A report was taken and the items were seized for destruction.

 

On May 24, 2016, at approximately 1920 hours, custody of a male party was transferred from the Nederland Police Department to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office. The male party was later processed into the Gilpin County Detention Facility on a warrant issued by Gilpin County for failure to appear on a trespass.

 

On May 26, 2016 a person arrived at the Gilpin County Jail to surrender themselves for an arrest warrant.  The person was taken into custody and processed without incident.

 

Also on May 26, 2016, at approximately 1436 hours, a Deputy responded to a small fire in unincorporated Gilpin County, which was contained upon arrival.

 

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, at approximately 1915 hours, a deputy responded to a residence in north county and took a report of criminal mischief. An investigation was begun.

 

On Friday, May 27, 2016, at approximately 0125 hours, a deputy responded to the Gilpin County Jail to assist personnel there with a combative inmate. A use of force report was completed.

 

On Friday, May 27, 2016 at approximately 1700 hours, deputies responded to a residence and took a report of a harassment that had occurred.

 

On May 27, 2016 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation within unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado. The Driver was arrested for DUI.

 

A deputy conducted a traffic stop and upon contact with the driver the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage was detected.  The driver submitted to and failed voluntary roadside maneuvers.  The driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

 

On May 30, 2016 a deputy took a report of a hit and run accident that occurred on a Forest Service Road on May 29, 2016.  There is no suspect information.

 

On May 30, 2016 a Deputy Sheriff with the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office assisted a Trooper with the Colorado State Patrol with a Driving Under the Influence investigation.
