Peak to Peak Chorale : Deep Waters, the Story of the Stroehle Family

letters2Dear Editor,

The Peak to Peak Chorale this spring is proud to present the story of the Stroehle Family, a prominent family who lived in Gilpin and Clear Creek Counties for four generations.

They were outstanding citizens who ran mining-related businesses and factories, served as mayors of Black Hawk, presided over schools and school boards, and were well-known musicians and teachers.  Although the family encountered tragedy in a mining disaster, they live on through their historic home maintained by the Gilpin County Historical Society.

Their story is told through actors and wonderful music ranging from Austrian folk songs to Civil War tunes to classic Disney songs.

Two performances including a delicious catered dinner will be held at the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Hall on the evening of May 1 and at the Elks Lodge in Central City on May 7.  A third performance will be at the Black Forest Restaurant in Nederland on May 4 where dinner may be purchased.

Tickets may be purchased now at  through Brown Paper Tickets.  For more information, please email to be added to the Chorale email list, visit us through Facebook at Peak-To-Peak-Chorale, or call 303-277-1843.
