Heavy turnout for Ned election

election 1Barbara Lawlor, Nederland.  In spite of the gravelly snow that pelted the town on Tuesday, voters dribbled into the Nederland Town Hall to drop off their mail-in ballot. By noon, 300 people had voted, a better than usual turnout.

In 2014, a total of 316 people showed up to vote for mayor and town trustees.

As Kelly Ashworth dropped her ballot into the box at town hall, she said, “This is an important election. I have been frustrated for the last several year so I hope we get the right group of people in here.”

Kat Barr said that voting in local elections makes a big difference in people’s lives.
