Friday March 11

4 – midnight.  FDGD opens with “The Blue Ball” in the ReAnimate Yourself Tent. A night of dancing, live music, spirits, costumery and celebration.   Live Music with Euphorquestra, Windows Bane & Funky Tonk Heroes.     Craft Beer, Fun, Festive, Spirited Drinks.

Ice Queen and Grandpa look alike contest at 8pm/ prizes his and hers Selk Bags sponsored by Mountain Man Outdoor Store in Nederland Grandpa’s gift shop & delicious food vendors Hog Wild, Chef Road Show, & others.

Saturday March 12

9 – 11 am. Registration and Wristband pick-up at Teen Center, 151 East 1st St. (East end of 1st St.). Register for the Polar Plunge & Coffin Races & Parade Contest. Waiver pick-up for ALL FDGD events (waivers on site for smaller events). All event participants must sign a waiver and get waiver wristband.

fgd pancake jim elder8 – 11 am. FDGD Pancake Breakfast at Community Center (.5 mi North on HWY 72, or take the path up Jefferson St.). Eggs and sausage, coffee and juice and all you can eat pancakes! Warm your belly for a day outdoors! $8 Adult, $5 Senior, $4 Under 12. Sponsored by and supporting the Nederland Area Seniors.

10:30 am – 5 pm. Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center. Caribou Shopping Center, 20 Lakeview Dr. Unit 107. Open house with the Turkey Vultures from the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program (presentation at 3:30 pm) and Spiders, Scorpions and Cockroaches.

11 am – 8:30 pm. Bacon Bourbon & Brews Tent Open. Located on 2nd Street. Craft breweries, local distilleries, bacon vendors and live music. Live Music (see music schedule). Grandpa’s Gift Shop & food vendors.

fdgd coffin running 11 am – 8 pm. Grandpa’s Mall Crawl. Downtown Nederland (on 1st St. east of the Visitor Center). Nederland’s First Street will be transformed into a pedestrian mall so revelers can enjoy music in the Brain Freezer and 3B tents, street performers, and participate in brain freezing, frozen t-shirt contests, icy turkey bowling and more!

11 am – 8 pm. Brain Freeze Tent Open. Located on 1st Street. Craft Beer and Festive, Fun Spirited Drinks. Live Music. Grandpa’s Gift Shop & food vendors.

11 am – 10 pm.  ReAnimate Yourself Tent Open.  NEW LOCATION in Guercio Field. Craft Beer and Fun, Festive, Spirited Drinks at the Ice Bar. Live Music. Grandpa’s Gift Shop and food vendors.

11 am – 4 pm. Viewing of “Grandpa’s in the Tuff Shed” documentary. Black Forest Restaurant. Watch the award-winning “Grandpa’s in the Tuff Shed” short film; shows approx. every 30 minutes.

fdgd coffin technoNoon. Parade of Coffin Racers & Hearses. Parade starts at the Nederland Teen Center and goes up (west on) 1st St. Parade Participants check in and line up at the Teen Center.

1pm. The Newly Dead Game. Black Forest Restaurant. Test your knowledge of your partner’s “death wishes”.

1 – 2 pm. Costumed Polar Plunge. NEW LOCATION at Guercio Field.  Entry Fee: $20 (online registration ends on 3/11 at 10 pm). New! Walk the Plank of the Blue Pearl.

2 – 3:30 pm. Famous Coffin Races. NEW LOCATION at Guercio Field. Teams race with a coffin and ‘corpse’ in tow through a course full of obstacles, mud, snow, other racers. CASH PRIZE  for best costumed team, trophies and lots of goodies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

3 – 5 pm. Cosmic Comedy Bus. Located next to the 3B Tent. 90 minutes of Features & open mic. Or come chill anytime!

fdgd frozen turkey fly3 – 5 pm. Icy Turkey Bowling on 1st St. across from Brain Freeze Tent.  Test your poultry bowling skills in the Icy Turkey Bowling Contest…you’re welcome to BYOFF (bring your own frozen fowl). $5 entry fee; register at the event. Waiver required to participate.

3 – 4 pm. Brain Freeze Contest. In front of the Brain Freeze Tent on 1st St. Contestants race against each other downing Frozen Slushies for fabulous prizes. $5 entry fee; register at the event. Waiver required to participate.

3 pm & 5 pm. Pioneer Inn’s Frozen T-shirt Contest. On 1st St. in front of the Pioneer Inn. Try and slip into something Frozen… faster than everyone else
$10 entry fee; register at the event. Waiver required to participate.

5pm. The Newly Dead Game. Black Forest Restaurant. Test your knowledge of your partner’s “death wishes”.

5 – 6 pm. Frozen Dead Poet Society Open Readings. On a soap box on 1st St. across from the Brain Freeze Tent. Bring your poems, musings and odes to Grandpa.

 

Sunday March 13

11 am – 6 pm. Grandpa’s Mall Crawl on First Street. Downtown Nederland (on 1st St. east of the Visitor Center). 1 – 1:30 pm. Mustache and Beard Contest. On 1st St. across from the Brain Freeze Tent. Come strut your frosty, facial flare for the second annual Beard and Mustache contest. Fantastic prizes for 1st & 2nd Place for both “Best Mustache” and “Best Beard”.

1 – 3 pm. Ice Carving with Bongo Love. NEW LOCATION at Guercio Field
