On 02/04/16 a male party came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office lobby to turn themselves in on a warrant for Failure to Appear on a Theft case. He was processed into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.
On 2/5/16 at approximately 0750 hours, an inmate at the Gilpin County jail tried to hurt himself, but was prevented from doing so by deputies. The inmate was found to have no injuries as a result of his attempt and was cleared medically by the jail medical staff.
On 2/5/16 at approximately 9:50 PM deputies conducted a traffic stop and DUI investigation and arrested the driver.
On 2/6/2016, at approximately 0410 hours, a male arrestee was brought to the Gilpin County Jail, for a breath test relating to a Driving under Influence investigation.
On 2/6/16 at approximately 1420 hours, a deputy responded to the sheriff`s office to speak with a party who wanted to report a fraudulent check. A report was completed on the incident and the case is under investigation.
On 2/7/16 at approximately 1030 hours a female party violated a protection order by contacting a male protected party in the Gilpin County Detention Facility located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, Black Hawk, CO 80422. The female party was processed into the Gilpin County Detention Facility on a charge of Violation of a Protection Order without incident.
On 2/7/16 at approximately 1230 hours, a deputy conducted a traffic stop. It was later learned that the driver had a suspended driver`s license. The driver was issued a summons and given a courtesy ride to a casino in Black Hawk.
On 2/8/16 a Deputy stopped a vehicle for having a missing headlamp. The driver was found to be driving on a canceled driver`s license. The driver was issued a summons and proof of service. His vehicle was left on scene, and he was given a courtesy ride to the casinos.
On 2/9/16 at approximately 1320 hours, at approximately 17.5 on Highway 119, a Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office deputy observed a vehicle speeding. The deputy caught up to the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and began to flee. While attempting to stop the vehicle, the deputy was advised that the vehicle in question had been reported stolen out of the Arvada, Colorado area. The vehicle eventually stopped and the occupants fled from the vehicle, but were later contacted and arrested.
On 2/9/16 a deputy observed a party driving a vehicle who the deputy knew had a Felony warrant for his arrest. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and the warrant was confirmed as active. The party was taken into custody.
On 2/10/16, a male party arrived at the Gilpin County Jail to turn himself in on a Probations warrant. He was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/10/16 at approximately 0336 hours, a person arrived at the Gilpin CountySheriff`s Office to turn himself in on a warrant. Through routine clearance using CCIC/NCIC, a valid warrant for the person was found, and he was escorted to the Gilpin County Jail for processing.
On 2/11/16 party was arrested in Gilpin County Sheriff`s Lobby on a warrant returnable to San Miguel County Sheriff`s Office. The party was processed into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrant.
On 2/11/16 at approximately 1723 hours, a deputy wasdispatched to the 100 Block of Sun Sedge Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado, regarding a welfare check on a subject. The subject was contacted and appeared to be in good condition. A case report was later completed.
On 2/12/16 at approximately 1045 hours, a male party in the court room was discovered to have an active warrant. The party was taken into custody and booked on the warrant without incident.
On 2/12/16 at approximately 1100 hours, a deputy in the Gilpin County Jail found that a male party in the Gilpin County Courts had a warrant out of Denver County for his arrest. The Deputy took the male party into custody on the warrant, and processed him into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/13/16 a deputy initiated a traffic stop. The drive was found to be driving on a canceled driver`s license. The driver was issued a summons, and the vehicle was released to a valid driver.
